András I, (Full name: András Géza Velencei, Először Nemesség of Velencei and Alispán of Velencei Németújvár) was an Nemesség that lived during the Second Kingdom of Hétumoger and the later Először Nemesség of Velencei. He was a military officer that helped to lead the Coalition of Noble Houses against the House of Esterházy and the Royalist Congress in the War of Nobles. He would later become the first Országgyűlés Vezetője of the newly declared First Noble Republic of Hétumoger. András I is considered to be part of the Five Heroes of Hétumoger. Among the nobility, many members referred to him as Father András (Hétumogerian: András Atya) for his rather caring nature for the nobles and the military that he led in the War.
András was born into the House of Velencei as an the second male heir to Géza Velencei III in Nagyatád, Vámosoroszi in east Hétumoger. As a male heir to the House of Velencei, András had worked as a scholar. The House of Velencei was considered to be the appointed House of Archives, as both Velencei men and women worked in archiving and preserving literature. András specialized in military history and later began cultivating an interest in military tactics and the military history of Hétumoger. Upon the death of Kálmán Velencei I, Géza was pronounced the new Először Nemesség of Velencei. As one of the offspring of the Először Nemesség, András was to become an Alispán. He was given his cousin Emerbik Kálmán Velencei's ownership after Emerbik's passing. He was titled Alispán of Velencei Németújvár, but in reality only owned the Castle Upon the Estate of Velencei Németújvár until the death of his brother Seszták Géza Velencei.
Seszták's death and his granting of the Estate of Velencei Németújvár pushed him into the realm of politics. He was content at the granting of the ownership for simply the castle, but was not interested in governing the entirity of the estate. The pregnancy of his sister Tünde Géza Velencei prevented her from taking the ownership, alongside the youth of his brother József Géza Velencei not allowing him to enter the realm of Alispán led to him forced by Géza to taking the responsibility of the Estate. Upon his ascenion to the throne, András professed an interest of Democratic Nobility, where the Polgárság would be allowed to partake and work with Noble Estate Governments, something that was typically of disinterest and administered by subjects that were appointed by the Kingdom itself.
During his time as an Alispán, he professed an extreme divide between himself and his father Géza III. He began to take reforms within Velencei Németújvár, something typically not done by an Alispán without the direction of the Először Nemesség. His reforms focused on estate government, disallowing appointees that Geza III had sent to help run the estate government. Instead, András opted to appoint his own government employees.
András and the House of Velencei were in attendance of the Lakottial Conference of Andrássy and would later pledge their allegiance to the Coalition of Noble Houses
