Augusta Assembly
The Augusta Assembly (March 1813 - May 1813; Audonic: Assemblée d'Augusta; Tsalagi: ᎠᎬᏱ ᏓᏂᎳᏫᎥ (ạgvyi danilawiv)) was a meeting of Chenique, Alnobak and Tsalagi delegates. It was convened on the request René Sieyès that met between March 20 to May 14, 1813 in the Hall of Merchants in Ville de Augusta in order to create a union of traders that were spread out from Ville de Augusta as well as the concerns from Alnobak and Tsalagi over the creation of the Mint of Augusta. The Augusta Assembly was also the first assembly to format a Chenique Greeting that could be exchanged from Chenique traders to Alnobak and Tsalagi tribesmen as a symbol of peace. The Tsalagi delegation abandoned the assembly and recalled its delegation on April 5 due to disagreements between the Chenique delegates and Tsalagi delegates.
There were several agreements that were signed throughout the Assembly that are termed the Augusta Preliminary Acts, some of which were signed by the Tsalagi delegation. However after April 5, the discussion erred towards a union of the Chenique trading posts and the Alnobaks, something the Tsalagi did not want to take part of. The Alnobak delegation, having already familiarized themselves with many of the independent Chenique trading posts, agreed to the union. The Assembly ended upon the signing of the Treaty of Oaks, and would later inaugurated the Union of Chenes. The Augusta Assembly would remain until June as the United Assembly of Chenes to act as the provisional government.
