The Daedo Metropolitan Subway (Zhenian: 대도광역전철), commonly the Daedo Metro and often stylized as MTS, is the rapid transit rail system serving the city of Daedo and vicinity, owned by the Daedo Metropolitan Government and operated by the Daedo Capital Transit Authority and the Zhenia National Railway Company. Having begun operation on February 19, 1920, it is the first and largest rapid transit rail network in Zhenia, spanning over 530.5 km (329.6 mi) of track, some of which is also owned by the Zhenia National Railway Company. It is a key component of Daedo's public transit, connecting the city's dense central business district to the city's subcenters, residential areas and beyond, with some lines and linkages to the Capital Rapid Express connecting to other metropolises, satellite cities and suburban areas in nearby Chungmu Province.
As of February 2020, the system encompasses over 12 main lines and 320 stations in a circle-radial topology, a system augmented by a number of light rail lines connecting suburban regions to major MTS stations. Although such light rail lines are operated by Daedo Capital Light Rail, a subsidiary of Daedo Capital Transit Authority, and retain transfer benefits under the Authority's transfer policy, they are not formally included in measuring the length of the overall network.
