Father Márfi is the Abbot of the Abbey Upon Velencei Németújvár and the last remaining Bystríki Monk within the Imperial East. He was the step-father of Clarence when Clarence was abandoned in Esztergom.

Father Márfi is introduced as one of the few characters that András I knows within Velencei Németújvár due to the relationship between András and Clarence that has existed since András's infant stage. As the last remaining Bystríki monk in the Imperial East, he keeps his Abbey relatively free of permenant inhabitants and as a result, lives in solitude. As a result, Márfi often comes into conflict with Szerafin who attempts to move non-denominational monks within the Abbey to Márfi's displeasure. Márfi is extremely old, having lived since Álmo II, the father of Géza III and grandfather of András I.
