Deutsch: Der Stadt Nideggen ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten vom 09.12.1975 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. „Das Stadtwappen zeigt in Gold (Gelb) einen rotbewehrten und -bezungten Löwen mit der rechten Hinterpranke einen schrägrechts gestellten, blauen Pfeil haltend.“ Das Wappen wird in einigen Quellen nicht satzunggemäß dargestellt. Es fehlen die roten Krallen und der Pfeilschaft ist rot anstatt blau gezeichnet. Das Wappen ist von einem Siegel aus dem 16. Jahrhundert abgeleitet.
English: „The arms were granted on December 9, 1975, but have been used as the official arms of the city since 1953. Nideggen received city rights in 1313 from Count Gerhard I of Jülich. The oldest seal shows the arms of the Counts of Jülich hanging on a hook. The present combination of the lion of Jülich and the arrow dates from the 16th century.“
