The Krijgsmacht is the national armed forces of Kooplieden. It consists of the Kroonleger (army), the Vredesmarine (navy), and the Luchtmacht (air force). It was first raised on July 9 1695, when the Kroonleger and Vredesmarine were combined and placed under the control of King Korneel I. The modern version of the Krijgsmacht, which was reorganised to include the fledgling Luchtmacht, officially came into being on January 1 1904.
