The Constitutional Monarchy of Vossem is a tiny, efficient nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, hard-working, devout population of 12 million Vossemians are free to succeed or fail in life on their own merits; the successful tend to enjoy an opulent (but moralistic) lifestyle, while the failures can be seen crowding out most jails.
History
Kingdom
In 1830 the provinces came together to formally debate the state of the country. For a few decades, the influence of most of royal families had slowly declined except for one, the principal Deemse dynasty with its seat in Voorstadt. Through proactive posturing and marriages it had built up its influence over the other houses, and ensured it was seen in a good light by the people through projects ranging from the opening of orphanages to the foundation of various museums which brought scholars from around the provinces. Finally in 1825, a conference was held to formally draft a constitution which would form the nation of Vossem under the Deemse monarchy to boost the nation's prestige and recognition on the world stage. The Conference of Tweebruggen did not happen without any resistance however, and the representatives of the Voorsem and Hessalt provinces almost staged a walkout if safeguards were not put in place to ensure the new central government would continue to expand its powers as other monarchies had in the past. While the idea of a senate had already been accepted by the delegates, a second chamber was also put in place to ensure that the average citizen could have their voices heard in government too.
By 1830, the details had been worked out and the prince was crowned king in Voorstadt.

Foreign Relations
Vossem has spent much effort placing itself in a favorable position on the international stage through an extensive network of diplomatic and economic activity. The stated goal of the foreign ministry has always been to remain neutral in the world's conflicts and Vossem has done so by trading with all parties, regardless of alliance. The alliance which is not only nearest to Vossem, but actively surrounds the small state is EUDA, however Vossem has shown in the past to be fiercely independent in an effort to maintain its neutral stance.
The Kingdom is in the process of establishing free trade agreements with several states in the region.
One of the facets in which Vossem operates to balance relations is in the purchase of arms. Import deals have been made with Vitellia, Muzztopia and Neo-Bolshevik Island.

Aerospace
Several aerospace companies are present in Vossem, and while most of these companies are smaller and concentrate on small-scale production, Feukker produces commercial passenger and cargo aircraft, as well as aircraft for the Vossemese government and military. Aside from the production of complete aircraft, several companies also produce propeller engines, turbo-prop engines and small jet engines as well as avionics suites and radars for use onboard aircraft.
Maritime
The Kingdom boasts a diverse maritime construction industry ranging from civil and military shipbuilding to offshore support and energy construction. The country's shipbuilding sector is dominated by three major companies, each specializing in a specific area. Deamse Scheepsbouw focuses on civil shipbuilding ranging from container ships and tankers, to fishing vessels. Alcotel Prima focuses on offshore contruction primarily in the offshore petrochemical and energy sectors. Finally, Tweebergse Droogdok en Scheepsbouw Maatschapij has traditionally focused on military contracts.
