Przëkam-Roztoka (Weranic: Perschkam-Rostock) is a municipality in Ostry and the second-largest community on the island, with a population of 3,400. It is located just north of the capital of Eriksztadt, on the central leeward side of the island.
History
The village of Roztoka was founded in the 9th century as an outport for Ostric fisherman, and was one of the main settlements on the island until the founding of Erikstadt in 1719. In 1932, Roztoka amalgamated with the adjoining community of Przëkam, creating the current municipality. The Ostric Naval Museum, located in the town's Harbour District opened in 2009.
Geography
Przëkam-Roztoka comprises 26 km2, making it the third-largest municipality of Ostry. It is connected by the Ostric Highway to Erikstadt in the south and Biôłi Kòscół to the north.
