Lightning Conflict is a free-to-play, vehicular-combat game that has both single and multiplayer modes. It was developed as a university project by the Juischai Student's Game Development Club of the University of Setabo - Computer Science Institute, and was published and is currently managed by the Deserenscha Networking Workers' Union.

The game was initially released on December 16, 2023 by the Juischai Game Development Club as their entry for the Annual University Club Development Awards, where it won the 1st place rank. On December 21, following the student council recommendation, the club gave the distribution and publishing rights to Deserenscha Networking Workers' Union, where it currently hosts the servers, handles the advertising and platform distribution, as well as collaborating with the club for any updates or development. The game became available for international users on January 4, 2024, which subsequently also creates its own forums ran by the Deserenscha Workers' Union.

The game uses a cross-platform format, making it available on multiple devices and allowing it to run virtually with anyone on any hardware connected on the same servers.

Gameplay

Lightning Conflict is based around combined-arms warfare, where a player can control various vehicles on land, air, and sea on a single battlefield. The game utilizes multiple vehicles ranging from the Great War (Esvanovia) eras up to the modern day, allowing the players to assume control of vehicles such as the JP-2A Arbiter or the OT-1 from Janpia, NMT-31 "Dokkaebi" from Neo-Korea, or the Gruening F5M Lynx from Meridon. Players can acquire vehicles by grinding technology points on a corresponding tech tree per each nation such as: Anagonia, Marquesan, Veliksaria, TECT, and among others, starting from older vehicles, and grinding through the ranks towards modern vehicles. Premium vehicles are usually export variants or a prototype and can be unlocked by blueprints; the game's premium currency paid by real money

The vehicles and its performance are closely resembled to its real-life counterpart, enabling unique and dynamic gameplay per every battle. There are 3 game modes available: casual mode, realistic mode, and reenactment mode. The simple mode utilizes a guide, which allows the players to lead, adjust their aim, or check if their shell will penetrate the armor before they take their shot. The vehicles' performances in this mode are also enhanced to make the gameplay much faster and make the handling easier for the player. In the realistic mode, guides as well as enhancements that are available in the casual mode are removed, giving each vehicle a "realistic" feel when it comes to handling, thus requiring the player to have certain skills to destroy their targets. In the reenactment mode, the third person perspective is removed, giving everyone the same viewpoint as the pilot, the tank commander, or the captain inside their vehicles.

In general gameplay, there are 5 modes available, that being the single-player missions, aircraft-only, tank-only, naval, and combined arms warfare. Single-player missions focuses on certain conflicts such as the Battle of Dalschiagogusun, Battle of Patria, and many other infamous historical battles. In Aircraft-only and Tank-only modes, players can use specific vehicles, concentrating on particular combat styles without interference from other types. In the naval mode, players gets to control battleships or guided missile destroyers, allowing them to track or interdict their targets depending per warship. This mode also utilizes AI for damage control parties, close air defense systems, or repairs. Players can also control aircraft in this game mode, once they reached a certain amount of points. As for the combined arms warfare, this mode would mix both land and air battles into a single battlefield, allowing players to perform close air support, anti-air, or have tank-vs-tank engagement.

Controversies

The game was recently noted for its classified document leaks, particularly from users in the forums to win over an argument or to have their vehicle's performance depicted accurately. In such cases, forum moderators removes such documents and warns the users to not share any classified material as a source of information, and to properly observe existing laws particularly on an online space. Regardless, there are rumors floating around that the JURIC has been utilizing the forums to gather information, but this was denied by the Deserenscha Networking Workers' Union.
