The Midlands (Leucish: Due Mydcoslandys) commonly known as Midlands, and officially known as the Crown State of the Midlands, nicknamed "The bread basket of the Kingdom.", is a federal state bordering Hundes to the north-west, North of Leucen in the north, East of Leucen in the north-east, Porgynth and Ostria in the east, Paworys and South-east Leucen in the south, Dwerigg in the south-west, and West of Leucen in the west. With an area of 28,013 km2, it is the 4th-largest state by area. With a population of 14.277 million; it is the second most populous state and the 4th-densely populated. The capital city, Toumes, sits conveniently at the banks of the River Cymon; and the largest city in the state, Varnyconne, sits in the banks of Cumberlith opening. It is the kingdom's premier port city, serving as one of the trade hubs of Leucen. It has the highest city-state ratio, with an astounding 72.23% of the state's population living in Varnyconne than anywhere else in the state. As the bread basket of the Kingdom, it produces 73% of the nation's domestic food supply. The presence of two river basins, namely Cymon and Sveter, makes the lands of the state fertile and suitable for mass agriculture.
