Ostria, officially the Crown State of Ostria, is a federal state bordering The Midlands to the west, Porgynth to the north, and South-east Leucen to the south. With a population of 9.7 million; it is the 4th-most populous state and the second most densely populated. With an area of 7,122 km2 (2,750 sq mi), it is the 22th-largest state by area. Nicknamed "The shipbuilder's delight", it is the center of the shipbuilding industry in the kingdom. Several of the world's largest shipbuilding companies, most notably Hunye Heavy Industries, Sonnish Shipbuilding Corporation, and Tartus Offshore & Shipbuilding, are headquartered in Ostria, most specifically Sark. Its capital and largest city is Sark, one of the largest cities in the kingdom and another port city which serves as an alternative destination for domestic and international passengers; foreign goods, and fishing vessels. Historically settled by maritime city states, collective known as the Ostrian city states, the region has a rich history of immigration, partitions, and scientific breakthroughs on maritime travel, naval military technology, and long-haul sea travel. It is protected by The Highlands to its eastern border, with a relatively unprotected border with Porgynth to the north. Nevertheless, the state is historically peaceful.
