TSG 1846 Münchert
About the project: TSG 1846 Münchert is part of a new project by the person behind Lionsroar. It serves as a club in the reimagined series "Rise to Glory", where the team starts in the lowest official Lionsroarian league. Each season will be simulated to observe how the club evolves over the years. The experiment is expected to be very lengthy, and the outcome remains uncertain. Will TSG ever rise to the top again? The experiment begins in the year 2000, following the club's relegation to the lowest leagues by the LFA in 1999 due to scandals, investor failures, and various other issues.
The TSG 1846 Münchert, also known as the Blue-White of Münchert, fully named Teutonische Sportgemeinschaft zu Münchert des Jahres 1846 (Teutonic Sports Community to Münchert of the Year 1846) or just 1846 is an amateur football club based in the city of Münchert. The former Lionsroarian champion of 1912 and 1923, and cup winner in 1960, 1961, and 1986, is a storied club with a rich tradition in past history. With a massive fan base and more than 10,000 members in its football division, the club has a tragic history. Various scandals and mismanagement, culminating in the lost cup final of 1991—just before the fall of the democratic republic and the subsequent brief interim period without professional competitions—led the Lionsroarian Football Association to exclude TSG from competitions in 1999, enforcing relegation to the lowest Lionsroarian league in Münchert.
The Rich Past
TSG 1846 Münchert is a club with an incredible history. Founded in 1846 as the Genossensportsverband Münchert, it is one of the oldest clubs in Lionsroar and the entire Trica region, alongside the eastern clubs from Ulm. Competing in various princely individual competitions for many years, the club earned trophies early on and made a name for itself. Located in the heart of Lionsroar at King's Rock, in the third-largest city of Münchert on the island, the club enjoyed a period of success during its affiliation with the great western Lionsroarian kings.
When the first unified Royal Lionsroarian League was established in 1912, TSG was a founding member and won the championship in its debut season. To this day, the club’s active fanbase proudly displays the slogan "First Lionsroarian Champion" on their jerseys, though this often stirs tensions with the King's Team. The King's Team won the first title in the Democratic Lionsroarian Republic and later, in 2000, in the newly formed First Division. Objectively, the title from 1912 is not officially recognized by the LFA, as Lionsroar was not yet unified at the time and only western clubs participated.
Until its second and final championship win in 1923, the club consistently performed at a high level. However, during the period of anarchic transition, the club began to feel the effects of the political turmoil, and several western championships were canceled due to civil war. Despite the lack of titles during this era, TSG remained competitive.
In the later years of the war period, from 1940 onwards, the club struggled, and it was not until 1946 that a unified Lionsroarian league system was introduced to determine the national champion. This new structure brought expanded competition, with powerful eastern and northern clubs joining alongside established western giants like the King's Team and Legio Loewenburg, creating a more dynamic league.
A decline began in the 1950s as TSG struggled to maintain its performance, eventually relegating to the second division. With the modernization of Lionsroarian football, an investor revitalized the club, sparking a rapid yet short-lived return to the top division. This culminated in back-to-back cup victories in 1960 and 1961. However, internal disputes led to another relegation to the second division by the late 1960s. In 1975, the club fell into amateur football and only returned to the second division in 1985. Remarkably, TSG won the Lionsroarian Cup in 1986 as the only second-division team to do so.
The Downfall
By 1990, the club secured promotion to the first division, and in 1991, they reached another cup final, which was ultimately abandoned. In 1992, a military coup reinstated the monarchy under the seventh Rothmund dynasty, led by Valentin Augustin von Rothmund. This ushered in an interim period of eight years during which the new kingdom was consolidated, and professional football was paused.
The Lionsroarian Football Association (LFA) resumed operations in 1998 and began evaluating clubs. TSG was found to have multiple irregularities, including excessive investor interference, the rise of radical hooligans, match-fixing, referee bribery, and insufficient cooperation with authorities. These issues culminated in 115 charges before the Lionsroarian Sports Court. Consequently, on August 20, 1999, TSG was forcibly relegated to the lowest Lionsroarian leagues, pending compliance with LFA regulations, investor withdrawal, and other conditions. While the club's titles were reviewed, no grounds for revocation were identified.
Introduction to the "Rise to Glory"
The lowest league into which TSG 1846 Münchert has fallen is Division 13, the Münchert-Oberhaus Staffel D (named after the Oberhaus district in Münchert). It consists of 10 teams. This is followed by Division 12 and Division 11, each with 12 teams, the Münchert-West Staffel C and Münchert-West Staffel B. These include teams from the western part of the large city. 14 teams play at Level 10 in the Münchert Höchststaffel A, which is followed by the Stadtliga Münchert with 16 teams as the highest city league under the Münchert City Sports Association. After this, with 16 teams, it continues up to the 7th Division, through the Kreisliga Südwest to the Bezirksliga Süd. Following these, with 18 teams each, are the Inselliga King's Rock (only for teams from the entire island), the Oberliga Archipel of the two islands of Lionsroar, and finally the Regionalliga Zentrum, which includes teams such as TuS Autenried, St. Löwenstein, Kelstadt Fußball, Eintracht St. Harfen, and LFC Schwarzlord. After that, as is well-known, come the Third, Second, and First Divisions of Lionsroar.
