The Sharkdonian Government exercises it's authority through a large number of government departments or organizations. A department is composed of employed officials, known as civil administrators, and is politically accountable by the Secretary of State. Most major departments are typically headed by a Director, who serves in the Executive Branch as an adviser to the Supreme Leader, and typically supported by an assistant director. However, in some departments, the position of Director is referred to as something different, such as the Department of State, who refers to their director as the "State-Director". Another example of this is the Department of Intelligence, who refers to their director as the "Keeper of Secrets".
