The Northern Coalition of Lydnaist States, more often referred to as the Northern Coalition is a military alliance founded by the New Reich of Altenland, Alytaj and Nørräland in December 1st, 1932. As part of the Coalition's founding documents, the Coalition professes to represent and defend the sovereignty of the Lydnaist states located in Cybellum against the Catholic states on the continent. As part of this goal, the Coalition has formed a joint overarching command for the militaries of it's member states. While only having three offcial members, the colonies and protectorates of the three founders are also counted as part of the alliance.

Having orginally been founded as a replacement to the old Alliance of Cybellum, with Altenland and Alytaj being once part of the dissolved AoC, the Coalition soon found new purpose as a power bloc composing of the Lydnaist states, largely located within Northern Cybellum. One of the Coalition's primary goals is to admit the other Lydnaist states on the contienent, such as Ayraland into the alliance, with other major goals being a joint effort to fund and send Lydnaist missionaries around the world to spread the Lydnaist faith, and attempt to contain expansion of the Catholic Holy Aventine Empire. The founding documents of the Northern Coalition explicity refer to the Empire as the Coalition's primary nemesis, decrying it's "blasphemy and heresy" against the Lydnaist faith.

As of 1932, the Northern Coalition is hard at work continueing it's strategic efforts. One of the most recent initatives by the Northern Coalition was to provide funding for Altish occupation efforts in Reynland as a "peacekeeping" initative, alongside specialized missionary efforts in occupied Reynland. A new meeting between the leaders of the Northern Coalition's member states has been planned for Janurary 30th, 1932.

Current Initatives

-Reynland Joint Occupation and Conversion Initative

After the Coalition Wars, Altenland was permitted to continue it's wartime occupation of the Kingdom of Reynland. Shortly after the Altish Revolution, Roswalt Koch, a major leader within the Vaterländisch Arbeiterpartei was appointed as Minister of Reynish Affairs within the Neumann cabinet and also the Provisional Reichkomissiar of Reynland. After the foundation of the Northern Coalition, Reynland was pinpointed by the Coalition's leaders as a testing ground for the Lydnaist Missionary effort. In tandem with Altenland, Norraland and Alytaj began to provide funding for the occupation and Altishization of Reynland, as well as the conversion of the formerly Catholic populace to the Lydnaist faith. As per the "peacekeeping" operations, the paramilitary Ordo dela Nova Krucoj in Alytaj has provided a number of squads to assist Altenland in the occupation.

-Lydnaism Missionary Initative

As part of this initative, the Northern Coalition's member states, in tandem with each of their states Lydnaist religious organizations have created the Global Organization of Lydnaist Emissaries and Missionaries (GOLEM) which provides state funding to Lydnaist religious schools and transport for Lydnaist missionaries to parts of the globe to spread the Lydnaist faith. Altenland provides 50% of the funding for this initative, while Norraland covers 30% and Alytaj provides 20%. Major non-state contributations exist as well, in the form of private donations as well as a effort by the Order in Alytaj to provide auxiliary funding.

-Military Rearmament Initative

While initally sidelined in favor of other initatives, the recent years have resulted in military spending becoming a increasingly major part of Coalition operations. The Military Rearmament Initative calls for the members states to form a united command structure administrated operating under the Coalition's flag and massive military industrialization, with the goal of all three of the member states to field a modern, mechanized army in order to conform to the Blitzkrieg strategy as outlined by the Altish military and in opposition to the Holy Aventine Empire. Focus on ideological enemies of the Northern Coalition has rapidly become a feature of this initative, and the Northern Coalition has began to perform military exercises on Aventine/Alytaj borders. The Coalition also seeks to send spies into Alpana itself to gain intelligence on the Aventine military.
