Seredinia (<small>Russian:</small> Серединська, Romanization of Russian Seredinska; <small>French:</small> Seredinie), officially the Seredinian Union (<small>Russian:</small> Серединский Союз; <small>French:</small> Union de Seredinie) is a sovereign country located in central Belisaria, an area from which it gets its name -- the middle is a possible translation of the Russian word cередина or seredina -- and shares land borders with Lyncanestria, Lihnidos, Liothidia, Milostia, Velikograd, and Nekulturnya as well as a maritime border with Eagleland. Historically and in contemporary ages, it has served as a gateway between the eastern and western powers of Ochran and Belisaria. Its population of 126,841,466 as of 2019 places it as the 5th-largest nation by population in Ajax, and 2nd largest in Belisaria.
Seredinia (<small>Russian:</small> Серединська, Romanization of Russian Seredinska), officially the Seredinian Federation (<small>Russian:</small> Серединская Федерация, Romanization of Russian Seredinskaya Federatsiya) is a List of transcontinental countries sovereign Federal state Parliamentary system republic. It spans east-central Belisaria and Ochran, a geographic makeup from which it gets its name meaning the middle in Russian. The largest nation in the world by land area, it is also the fourth largest nation by population with nearly 127 million residents. The majority of its population live in the western area of the country, near the Periclean Sea, and in metropolitian areas such as Belogorodka and Zolodolina, the first and second largest cities in the nation respectively. Other major cities include the coastal centers of Elektrostal and Tambov, as well as the far-eastern city of Dominigrad and the steppe city of Voroshilovka. Spanning a wide swathe of the northern hemisphere, Seredinia shares land borders with Drevstran, Velikograd, Tsensurii, and Uluujol as well as a maritime border with Tarsas. Historically and in contemporary ages, it has served as a gateway between the eastern and western powers of Ochran and Belisaria.

Seredinia is a Federal state Parliamentary system constitutional monarchy, in which the monarch serves as a ceremonial figurehead and appoints a prime minister from among the leaders of the Seredinian Diet; such powers and procedures are executed according to the May Constitution of 1929. The reigning Sovereign is Charles II, XII, and VII since 1992, and the current Premier is Marlène Astier since 2018. The government is based primarily in the List of purpose-built national capitals of Zolodolina, while the two major constituent governments of Vannois and Kaselia are based in the cities of Saint-Nazaire and Tambov respectively.
The ethnic group known as East Slavs first emerged across Belisaria and Ochran in the early centuries CE, and were initially ruled by various disparate Knyaz over the course of the 6th through the 10th centuries. By 970 CE a majority of the country was under the nominal control of the Bayarid Empire. Its domination over Seredya would last until just before the disestablishment of the Bayarids in 1147, with a transition to the Zhuzh system of decentralized rulership taking hold until the late 13th century. It was during this time that various religions began to spread across Seredya, including Eastern Orthodox Church and Catholic Church. While none would take root across the entire nation, each would ingrain itself into Seredyan culture, eventually forming what is now known as the Evangelical Orthodox Church of All Seredyans by the 16th century. After the deposition of the last Zhuzh in Seredya-majority areas in 1318, power began coalescing around the Christian Principalities of Zolodolina and Belogorodka. Proclaimed a united Grand prince in 1366 through various intermarriages, the Princes of the Golden Valley would begin expanding across what is now western and central Seredinia throughout the 14th and 15th centuries, culminating in the conquests of Vsevolod IV from 1454-1468. By the seventeenth century, the lands were essentially united and expanded by conquest, annexation, and expeditions in the far east to roughly the modern extent of the Seredinian Federation, termed The Middle Lands -- inhabited by the People of the Middle Lands, or Seredyans -- by its Vozhd and Autocracy, or Autocrat.

Seredya under the Vozhd would collapse after the Christmas Revolution of 1878 and capture of  Anatole I, leading to a decade-long civil war and the emergence of socialist and communist ideologies across the nation. The conflict would see the deaths by starvation and war of millions of citizens across the country, and the secession of Tsensurii as well as other small regions of the country. At its end, propagated by the unification of liberal Kadet factions with the moderate wing of the Socialist Authority, the Velikaya Respublika, or Grand Republic, was declared; and while it underwent significant amendment and change during the early-1950s era known as the Time of Troubles, it is one of the longest-standing constitutional republic in the world. It maintains consistently peaceful transfers of power and only a single instance of near-usurpation of its democracy, undertaken during the 1950 to 1954 period of instability, known as the Knyazitsyn Putsch and ended decisively by Ispolnitel and later President Laurentiy Verizov. The reformation of the nation into the Seredinian Federation was overseen by Verizov, and his reforms and constitutional document are termed the Verizov Documents.
Seredinia's economy ranks within the top five of the world by nominal GDP, and it is a major producer of raw materials as well as finished products. Governmentally, Seredinia maintains an indirectly-elected President who serves as the official head of state and guarantor of the Seredinian Constitution, and who appoints a prime minister, or Prime Minister, from among the leaders of the Zemsky Sobor to serve as head of government. The President's powers and the procedures by which he executes them are maintained according to the various so-called constitutions, though each successive document is actually a set of amendments to the official 1878 Constitution. The current President is Anatole Apraxin, serving his second term since 2010, and the current Ispolnitel is Nadezhda Vyrubova since 2015. The government is based primarily in the capital city of Zolodolina.
Etymology
The name Seredinia is derived from the Russian word середи́на (Romanization of Russian Seredina), meaning "centre" or "midpoint". This name was only used after the establishment of the Velikaya Respublika in 1895, as previously references the state was referred to as the "Середская Земля" (Romanization of Russian Seredskaya Zemlya) which can be translated as "Seredyan Land" or "Land of the Seredyans". The state which developed into Seredinia is commonly referred to as the Grand Principality of Zolodolina, and its people as Zolodolinans, until the proclamation of the Grand State of Seredya in the 17th century.
Citizens of Seredinia are still primarily referred to normally by the ancient name as "Seredyans" (Russian language": Середян). Due to the nation's size and periodic expansion over time, other words are used to specify citizens of specific regions of the modern nation. "Velikoseredya", or Great Seredya; "Maloseredya", or Small Seredya; "Novoseredya", or New Seredya; and "Vostoseredya", or East Seredya, are all regions of the nation which have specific demonyms.
The regional demonyms have evolved over time, and the political correctness of some -- especially Maloseredy -- have come into question in recent years. Proponents of the disuse of these demonyms include Ispolnitel (and Vostoseredyan) Nadezhda Vyrubova, while supporters of their traditional use continuing include former Ispolnitels (and Velikoseredyans) Mikhail Luzhkov and Adrian Dityatev

Seredinia (Seredyan: Серединська, tr. Seredinska), officially the Seredinian Federation (Seredyan: Серединская Федерация, tr. Seredinskaya Federatsiya) is a transcontinental sovereign federal parliamentary republic. It spans east-central Belisaria and Ochran, a geographic makeup from which it gets its name meaning the middle in Seredyan.

The ethnic group known as Seredyans first emerged across Belisaria and Ochran in the early centuries CE, and were initially ruled by various disparate knyazes over the course of the 6th through the 10th centuries. By 970 CE a majority of the country was under the nominal control of the Bayarid Empire. Its domination over Seredya would last until just before the disestablishment of the Bayarids in 1147, with a transition to the Zhuzh system of decentralized rulership taking hold until the late 13th century. It was during this time that various religions began to spread across Seredya, including Eastern Orthodoxy and Fabrian Catholicism. Proclaimed a united Grand Principality in 1366 through various intermarriages, the Princes of the Golden Valley would begin expanding across what is now western and central Seredinia throughout the 14th and 15th centuries, culminating in the conquests of Vsevolod IV from 1454-1468. By the seventeenth century, the lands were essentially united and expanded by conquest, annexation, and expeditions in the far east to roughly the modern extent of the Seredinian Federation, termed The Middle Lands -- inhabited by the People of the Middle Lands, or Seredyans -- by its Vozhd and Samoderzec, or Autocrat.

At its end, propagated by the unification of liberal Kadet factions with the moderate wing of the Socialist Authority, the Velikaya Respublika, or Grand Republic, was declared; and while it underwent significant amendment and change during the early-1950s era known as the Time of Troubles, it is one of the longest-standing republics in the world.

Governmentally, Seredinia maintains an indirectly-elected President who serves as the official head of state and guarantor of the Seredinian Constitution, and who appoints a Ispolnitel, or Prime Minister, from among the leaders of the Zemsky Sobor to serve as head of government.

Etymology

The name Seredinia is derived from the Seredyan word середи́на (tr. Seredina), meaning "centre" or "midpoint". This name was only used after the establishment of the Velikaya Respublika in 1895, as previously references the state was referred to as the "Середская Земля" (tr. Seredskaya Zemlya) which can be translated as "Seredyan Land" or "Land of the Seredyans". The state which developed into Seredinia is commonly referred to as the Grand Principality of Zolodolina, and its people as Zolodolinans, until the proclamation of the Grand State of Seredya in the 17th century.

Citizens of Seredinia are still primarily referred to normally by the ancient name as "Seredyans" (Seredyan": Середян).

The regional demonyms have evolved over time, and the social acceptability of some -- especially Maloseredy -- have come into question in recent years.
