The County of Norcustsur Police is the county-level law enforcement agency for the County of Norcustsur which lies at the northern end of the Grand Duchy of Radictistan. The CNP has about 91,000 personnel organized along paramilitary lines. The county police has been at the forefront of the government's response to the Norcustsur internal conflict and has been critized for incompetence and lapses in operational security.
History
Norcustsur conflict
The County of Norcustsur Police responded to the shooting at Sudermann Mall in Hartfer, the KPR's second major attack after the bombing of a Radictistan Automotive Works office. One of the gunmen was shot by CNP personnel while fleeing the scene. The county police then took part in maintaining the cordon around the Hartfer blutstats. As the death toll from KPR operations continued to mount over the following months the county police lost much of the meager confidence it received from the public. A series of security breaches and the identification of Communist Party sympathizers within the organization led the Royal Security Police to become wary on sharing information. Subsequently the county police were not informed of the plans and execution of Operation Firebird, the first major offensive operation against KPR safe havens.
Organization
The organization of the County of Norcustsur Police is similar to that of the Royal Security Police. The area of operations is split between three Divisions: The West Division covering an area to the west of Hartfer, the East Division covering an area to the east of Hartfer, and the Hartfer Division responsible for Hartfer itself. Each division is subdivided into a number of Sectors, each consisting of up to several scores of personnel. There are also special units such as the Fast Response Teams trained for high-risk interventions.
Rank structure
The County of Norcustsur Police uses the same rank structure as the Royal Security Police, itself based on the ranks of the Royal Radictistan Army with a prefix of "Police" added to an otherwise unaltered system of officer and enlisted ranks.
Weapons
The standard sidearm of the County of Norcustsur Police is the Beretta 92S. The primary service rifle is the Steyr AUG A2. Personnel are equipped with other weapons such as the SVD and DSR-1 marksman's rifles and UMP submachine guns as needed.
Vehicles
The standard urban patrol vehicle is the RAW 160. Rural sectors use Land Rover Defender and UAZ-3151 off-road vehicles. ATF Dingo 2 armored vehicles are used in high-risk areas. The County of Norcustsur Police Air Wing operates Bell 412, Mil Mi-17, and PZL W-3 helicopters. The Air Wing also operates fixed-wing aircraft in the form of four PC-6 single-engine STOL aircraft and five Let 410 transports.
