On April 4th, 2005, multiple Liberal Democratic Party officials, including the House Leader Jeremy Davies and Secretary of the Treasury Kevin Lois, were found to have dual citizenship in countries like Canada, the CSA and the UK via an expose from a rogue Dept. of Immigration official. President Yates and party Chairwoman Daniella DiBlasio agreed to encourage all of the officials who were accused to resign under the possibility of being ousted from the party. Every official either resigned or moved to the New Liberal Party, 3 Congressmen moved to the NLP. | |||
On April 15th the SDU and NLP launched a House Ethics investigation into the Liberal Party’s actions regarding forcing officials to resign and whether or not any officials had ethics violations while holding dual citizenship. The investigation did not find any members to have ethics violations and found that President Yates and Party Chairwoman DiBlasio gave members an ultimatum in leaving the party or resigning. | |||
All Congressmen who resigned, totaling 4, were elected by Party-List, so their replacements were simply appointed by the Liberal Democratic Party. | |||
