#REDIRECT List of Prime Ministers of Satavia
The Prime Minister of Satavia is the Head of Government of Satavia. The first Prime Minister of Satavia, Richard Somerset, served as Prime Minister from 1816 (with the foundation of the Hope Dominion) until 1820, serving just one term. Terms last four years (and often, more or possibly less) as the Prime Minister decides when to call an election. For example, a Prime Minister could become Prime Minister on the 1st January 2020, and then only call an election on the 31st December 2024, therefore effectively serving five years. Untill 1936, there were no term limits, allowing those like Arthur O'Connell, a politician of Caldian descent, to serve as Prime Minister for 28 years. {{Sidebar

From 1935 (and the fall of the Kingdom of Satavia), term limits were introduced, and the first Republican Election was held in 1936. The elections were renamed Republican Election as an effort to distance them from the Monarchy. In 1980, the first non-Republican Prime Minister, Eric Edwards, since 1936 changed the name back to General Election. There have been a total of nine Conservative Prime Ministers, five Liberal Prime Ministers, one Hennish Party Prime Minister, six Republican Prime Ministers, four SDP Prime Ministers and one Independent Labour Prime Minister. The current 'logo' of the Prime Minister of Satavia, since 2008.

From 1935-1976, Satavia was described as an effective One Party State.

The current Prime Minister is Jago Elliot, the first Conservative Prime Minister since 1924. The Conservative Party were banned from 1935 until 1977, for being too pro-Monarchist.
