Arcanstotska, officially the Second Arcanstotskan Republic (Obshchiy-Yazk: Вторая Арканская Республика, Obshchiy-Yazk Transliterated: Vtoraya Arkanskaya Respublika), is a country located in Inner Craviter. Covering an area of 144,150 square kilometers (55,657 sq mi) it lies between the Phoenix Sea to the west and the Auburn Sea to the northeast. It borders Malor-Kanada and Norsia to the north and Highton to the south. Siloyev is the nation's current capital and second largest city. Other major urban areas include Ramelensk, Kropolym, Stavrozniki, Liyev, Sirinsk, and Klikhov.

Following the coronation of Vasili II of Bergum in Maloria in 1209, the nobles of Kalinia declared the independence of a new kingdom with Vasili's brother Fyodor as their first king. After two years of fighting the war ended in 1211 with the establishment of the Kingdom of Arcanstotska. Over the course of the following centuries, the Kingdom of Arcanstotska expanded eastward and sought out colonial holdings overseas.

In 1807, after years of famine and poverty, Arcanstotska erupted in revolution. House Aksakov, which had reigned over Arcanstotska for over five-hundred-years, was expelled and replaced with the First Arcanstotskan Republic. Under the leadership of Stanislav Stepanovich Vedenin, Arcanstotska joined the side of the Callisean Republic during the Chevalier Wars. After Callisean and Arcanstotskan forces were forced to retreat south from Prydania, Siloyev fell, Vedenin was killed in battle, and Arcanstotska capitulated. The monarchy was restored in 1819 under Alexei III of House Aksakov as the restored King of Arcanstotska.

Alexei III's reign was fraught with disaster. Unwilling to listen to his subjects, Alexei III made use of a Royal Secret Police Force to terrorize his people into obedience. In 1848, however, following the infamous Palace Plaza Massacre, a renewed republican revolutionary movement arose which was organized by an underground group of republicans which came to be known as "The Circle." The Circle's members led a coup against the royal government and had Alexei III executed before declaring the creation of a Second Arcanstotskan Republic. Following what would become known as the Arcanstotskan Revolution of 1848, the new republican government fought a civil war against remnant monarchist military elements, united under the command of Duke Saveliy of Gorbunov. After a disastrous defeat for the monarchists at the Battle of Aleski, the monarchist cause began to fall apart until Saveliy of Gorbunov surrendered to republican commander Sergei Kariyev in 1852. Kariyev was hailed as a savior of the republic, and served as the nation's first president from 1852 to 1862.

Throughout the remainder of the 19th-century and the early 20th-century, the Second Arcanstotskan Republic focused on internal development. During the Fascist Wars, Arcanstotska sided with the Allies against the fascist Dominion Powers.

Currently Arcanstotska is a federal presidential constitutional republic led by a President. With 54.3 million inhabitants across its WIP constituent provinces, it is the XXth most populous country on Craviter and the XXth most populous in Eras.

Following the restoration of House Aksakov to power in Arcanstotska, a renewed republican movement began to secretly organize. The new king, Alexei III, seeking to secure his power against those he believed would threaten his reign, established the Royal Secret Police Force, or K.T.P.

The underground republican movement was organized around an underground group of republican writers, lawyers, judges, and military officers which came to be known as "The Circle" in 1829. The Circle was a loose coalition between various political blocs such as syndicalists, socialists, communists, liberals, and sympathetic conservatives. Internal relations between these ideological blocs were sometimes strenuous; communists and syndicalists were often at odds with liberals and moderate socialists, and both of whom were then at odds with conservatives sympathetic to the republican cause. In 1836, Royal Army colonel Sergei Kariyev joined the Circle. Kariyev proved to a dedicated member of the organization, helping to establish the Executive Committee which acted as a form of uniting leadership for the Circle. The Circle became a much more coordinated body, and by 1848, had amassed a large following of republicans across the nations, all-the-while evading destruction by the K.T.P. Governance

According to the Constitution of 18XX, Arcanstotska is a federal presidential constitutional republic divided into three separate branches of government. Each branch is restricted by an enshrined system of checks and balances which prohibit any governmental office or branch from becoming powerful enough to threaten democratic authority.

• Legislative: the bicameral National Assembly made up of the Senate (which represents the nation's constituent states) and the Chamber of Representatives (which represents the people directly). The Senate is comprised of 14 seats (two for each constituency) and the Chamber of Representatives is comprised of 543 seats, with one seat equating to 100,000 people. The National Assembly has the responsibility to adopt federal law, declare war, approve of and propose treaties, and power of impeachment over the President.
• Executive: the President is the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces and appoints members of the National Executive Cabinet (subject to approval from the National Assembly) who administer and enforce federal laws and policies. There is also the National Council, comprised of the head officials of the nations WIP federal executive departments, such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Defense. Their job is to advise the President's decisions on any subject relating to the duties of each member's respective office.
• Judicial: the National Constitutional Court, the National Supreme Court, and lower federal courts, whose judges are appointed by the National Assembly with Presidential recommendation, have the responsibility of reviewing laws and overturning laws they deem unconstitutional.

The President of the Second Arcanstotskan Republic (POTSAR) is elected directly by the people via the popular vote for a maximum of two consecutive five-year terms, after which he/she will no longer be capable of serving any more terms in office.

The National Assembly operates on a multi-party system, and a political party must meet a membership requirement of 100,000 people in order to receive a seat in parliament.

Since the 1950's the leading political parties have been the liberal National Fraternity Party, the Social Democratic Party, and the Conservative Union of Arcanstotska. Other notable parties include the Syndicalist Front, the progressive Peace & Love Party, the National Green Party, the Union of Arcanstotskan Communists, and the right-wing populist Arcanstotska First League.

Arcanstotska's military, the Arcanstotskan Armed Forces, is comprised of three primary branches; the Army (with special forces SSO), the Navy, and the Air Force. There are also three independent arms of service; the Airborne Forces, the National Guard, and the Military Police. The total number of service members across the ARA in 2019 totaled 1.08 million across all service branches (25,000 active duty, 1,061,000 in reserve). In absolute terms, Arcanstotska's military expenditure is equal to WIP billion IBU, roughly WIP% of the nation's GDP and WIP in the world. In times of peace, the Armed Forces fall under the authority of the Minister of Defense, however, in times of war, the Armed Forces instead fall under the command of the President.

The Arcanstotskan Armed Forces is a completely voluntary force in peacetime, though conscription may occur in times of war.

Obshchiy-Yazk is the official state language of Arcanstotska, and the predominantly spoken language within its territory, though numerous other languages are spoken within the nation. Mercanti is the second most widely spoken language in Arcanstotska, as it is widely taught in schools across the nation, and there are significant Aleman speaking communities in the south and east along the border with Highton. Pekysko, the language of the indigenous Pekyri People, is also spoken in Arcanstotska, though almost exclusively by the Pekyri People themselves.
