United Motherland (Chandan: බිරලික ඉධ ඕරැඞ, Birlik Ekh oron) is the ruling political party of Chanda. Continuously in power since the founding of the Republic of Chanda in 1947, the party dominates the politics of the country.
The political party was officially founded after the Declaration of the Republic in order to enact the Group of Five's vision for the country. Since then it was won every national election in the country by significant margins. Today it officially, it rules in coalition with the Liberal Democratic Party of Chanda and People's Democratic Party of Chanda as part of the National Front. However in reality the two parties are effectively independent and function as a managed opposition.
Aside from following the basic principles of Birlikism, the party has featured a very wide array of ideologies often held simultaneously by different party factions. This lack of a specific coherent ideology has led political scientists to classify the party as a "catch-all party" or as a "party of power". Today the dominant factions of the party favors market socialism, moderate internationalism, and constitutional reformism.
