North Ayeli, officially the Democratic Republic of Ayeli, is a country that emerged in the aftermath of the 2018 Eruption of Mount Nunakun and the political crisis that followed. Since its creation, it claims to be the sole legitimate authority over Ayeli, a claim contested by South Ayeli. Belfras was the first country to recognize North Ayeli as a legitimate state, followed by X and Y. It's capital and largest city is Uyatlaudali.
Because of the political fracturation of the island and the aftermath of the earthquake and volcanic eruption, North Ayeli lost a major part of its economic capacities. Uyatlaudali remain the only economically growing city while the rest of the country is qualified as being in a state of economic decay by most observers. The Inada government has started a number of reforms and programs to try and change the situation, notably through favorizing foreign investments. It nonetheless keep an aggressive rethoric toward South Ayeli, keeping the island in a cold war since 2018, limiting the reconstruction and attractiveness of Ayeli.

The Democratic Republic of Ayeli Defence Force (DRADF), internationally known as the Northern Ayeli Military, is the principal armed forces for the Democratic Republic. The three primary services of the defence forces are split into the Democratic Republic of Ayeli Army (DRA Army), Democratic Republic of Ayeli Air Force (DRA Air Force), and Democratic Republic of Ayeli Navy (DRA Navy).
The military was created with the assistance of the Belfrasian Federation, which arrived shortly after the 2018 eruption of Nunakuna which triggered the creation of both north and south Ayeli as individual states.
