This article is about the current Noble Families in Amenria and not previous dynasties.
Amenrian Noble Families are sociopolitical factions in the Empire of Amenria. There are two types of Noble Families; The Major Noble Families and the Minor Noble Families which are subsidiaries under the Majors.
Ranks
There are five ranks within Noble Families. The Leaders, usually called Patriarchs if male and Matriarchs if female, are the highest authority of every Noble Family, answering only to the Patriarch of the Major if Leader of a Minor and the Heavenly Emperor if Leader of a Major.
Advisors are the second in command of Leaders. Leaders of Minors are Advisors of Majors. Should the Leader die, go off-universe, or otherwise become unavailable, Advisors could take their Leaders' place until a new Leader arises.
Heirs are usually children of the Leader who will become Leaders themselves once their Leader dies and if they fulfill certain conditions that vary by Family.
Barons and Baronesses are the middle management personnel, serving as a bridge between the Families they serve and the general public.
Associates are at the bottom of their respective Families, responsible for day-to-day operations, which, depending on the Family, could mean waiting tables, going on patrols, and other relatively menial tasks.
Major Families
The Major Families are eight (secretly nine) factions that have their own civic functions, ideologies, colour combinations and positions in the parliament. Two of these factions are Honorary Noble Families - organizations that are treated as Noble Families despite having different structures.
