Sultan of Sharifistan
As Sultan of Sharifistan he pursued an aggressively anti-Soviet, anti-communist, pan-Islamic policy. He notably sided with the Afghan mujahideen during the Soviet Afghan War but also supported Nelson Mandela who was not aligned to the NATO bloc (unlike the Afghan mujahideen). He also criminalised marital rape in 1980.
