Sultan of Sharifistan

The Sultan of Sharifistan is the Sharifistani head of state and head of government. They are also the Commander in-Chief (Amir Al-Akbar) of the Sharifistani Armed Forces.

Powers

Until the adoption of the Book of Justice (which provides legal protections against imprisonment without trial or extrajudicial execution and demands the Sultan adheres to the Qur'an in their rulership) in May 2021, the Sultan theoretically had absolute power. Currently the Sultan's power is limited by law but still wide-ranging. The main powers of the Sultan today are:

1. Appointing cabinet ministers and judges

2. Making decrees that apply to Sharifistan and it's citizens

3. Acting as Commander-In-Chief (Amir Al-Akbar) of the Sharifistani Armed Forces, appointing and dismissing Generals.

4. Determining alliances with other countries and

5. Deciding when to make war or peace

Titles

In addition to being Sultan of Sharifistan they hold the titles Amir al-Mu'minin (Commander of the Faithful), Kayser-i Rum (Caesar of Rome) as well as Amir Al-Akbar ("Greatest Commander"),in relation to the Armed forces as well as Koruyucu-nin-Sharifistan (Protector of Sharifistan).
