The death of [[Bjarn II Von Stone|Bjarn II's]] father, [[Eirik Von Stone|Eirik]], sent the young king into a downwards spiral. Early in his childhood, Bjarn II would develop issues related to trust, abandonment and anxiety. Old friends of Eirik turned into advisors of Bjarn II until the king was deemed old enough to rule on his own. In 1302, Erik turned 17 and succeeded to the throne, replacing the group of nobles that had collectively assumed leadership of the nation. |
