The Cube (Chinese: 立方体吧; pinyin: Lìfāngtǐbā, meaning "Cube Bar") is a bar lying on the west relative to the centre of the Multiverse. It is always attended by two individuals; the Barkeeper, who serves food and drinks to the patrons of the establishment, and the Pianist, a female entity whose appearance changes to match the species, and where applicable, the race of the observer. According to the Barkeeper, the Cube "exists outside of space and time", suggesting that it was created at the same time as the Multiverse itself. This allows characters to talk and interact with other characters in a way they wouldn't have been able to otherwise, such as deceased characters and bosses. It also served as a location for Amenria's Q&A thread where one could ask questions to characters or the developer himself, but has since been closed for this purpose until further notice.

General

The Cube is a relatively spacious bar with three floors; a ground floor, a second floor, and a basement. Counter clockwise from the front entrance is a row of booths. Next to it are two stations, the nearer one being almost constantly staffed by the Barkeeper, and the further one unstaffed. Behind the stations are three doors, the closest to the observer leading to the kitchen, the second closest leading to The Subconscious, and the furthest leading to an unknown location. Next to the unstaffed station are flights of stairs, one leading to the basement and the other leading to the second floor.

On the other side of the room, clearly visible from the front entrance are two doors, each leading to a bathroom; one regular bathroom and the other a disabled bathroom. To the left is a platform with tables, an aquarium housing aquatic creatures seen nowhere else in the Multiverse, and a small stage with a grand piano where the Pianist plays.

Accessibility

The Cube can be accessed from certain places in every universe, with each universe's access point being unique to that particular universe. From the Prime Universe, it can be accessed through a purple wooden door in the Paris Catacombs, a large, metal door in the National Library of Amenria or an elevator in Sugita Building, Shibuya. One could also access the Cube from any door by using the Cubical Key.

When exiting the premises, one would be transported to the universe they came from, right outside the access point used, unless they ask The Barkeeper otherwise.

Alternatively, one could access The Cube via The Subconscious.

Services

The bar serves every food and drink that existed, exists, and will exists in every universe. The Barkeeper understands orders made in any language, and would even customize the order for certain individuals (such as making gluten-free versions of food normally containing gluten when ordered by someone with autism), even without being asked to do so. The Barkeeper will deny any orders of food or drink that would harm the patron, such as an order for Elixir by a human. How he manages to find out his customers' needs, wants, and biochemical compatibility at that exact moment is unknown, although it is hypothesised that he uses a subtle form of telepathy undetectable by current technology.

Being a self-contained Extrauniversal Territory, The Cube is a neutral zone that accepts temporary housing of exiles, refugees, or fugitives. However, the payment expected for such services, if any, as well as the acceptance of the individuals seeking said services, is highly variable.

The Barkeeper also sells information broker services, but like the above, is also highly variable in price and availability.

The Cube accepts payment in any currency, including, but not limited to, Amenrian Cicis, Swiss Franc, Bitcoin, cowry shells, and human blood. It sometimes even accepts non-tangible forms of payments, such as favours and information.

Trivia

  • The Cube was inspired by the Oblivion Bar from DC Comics and The Stray Sheep from Catherine.
