The JC-1 (Ju Chao-1, "Giant Wave-1") is a short-range SLBM developed by Songguo. It does not have MIRV capabilities and was designed to only carry a single nuclear warhead, though most missiles were eventually fitted with lighter bombs so they could each carry two. The missiles were originally developed to be used aboard the Egui-class submarine, and some JC-1s and JC-1A missiles were used aboard the first Jingang-class boats before the JC-2 was fully operational.

The original JC-1 design has been superseded by several upgraded variants. The JC-1A is an upgrade to the original SLBM, with a range more like an IRBM and able to carry three warheads (though it lacks MIRV capabilities). JC-1B, also known as the BF-08 was a short-range land-launched variant of the JC-1 that was later adapted, carrying two nuclear warheads or a large explosive or chemical warhead, and the JC-1B2, also called the BF-09, was an upgrade to this type of missile to extend its range.
