High School Fleet is a Cacertian anime television series created by Falco Filmworks. Set centuries after catastrophic shifts in tectonic plates have significantly altered Cacerta’s geography, the newly developed Cacertian nation has created high functioning floating cities line the coasts of the archipelago over the ruins of the old nation. The marine industry is flourishing, and young girls are eager to join the Blue Mermaids—professional highly skilled women who devote their lives to protecting the seas.

The story focuses on a girl named Veriana Bianchini who enrolls into the Fumicino Girls’ Marine High School in Fumicino, Lombardo. As Veriana and her classmates embark on the fictional Elvira-class destroyer HMS Mareta, an incident involving their instructor leads to unfortunate circumstances. It is up to Veriana and her crew to find the truth, avoid pursuit, and clear their names.

Series writer Nicolina Maccari was greatly influence by her time serving in the Cacertian Royal Navy as well as attending the Fumicino Naval Academy. She has cited much of the series was based on her experiences and those of her comrades.
