Ittore Apys was born on May 20th, 1786, at the family home in Yons, Greater Athema. He grew up as the third of five children, with two brothers and two sisters. His father was a businessman in Yons working as a middleman, coordinating the movement of textiles, food, dry goods and clothing out to smaller towns for distribution and also operated several warehouses in the city. His father being self-taught and not having a formal eduacation, sent Ittore to an Athemian school at the age of six. At the age of eleven, Ittore began assisting his father in the day to day activities of the company, while engrossing himself in studying the politics of the old Grand Queendom, with a vague understanding of Betanian culture, ethics and language.
 
Apys entered the School of Law in Ceva in Apricus in 1802 at the age of sixteen and studied the law, business, and finance under Professor Tumeri. While at the School of Law in Ceva, he met several prominent students interested in Aprician politics and began to participate in their dinner parties and discussions about philosophy and ethics. He began work as a law clerk in 1807 at the Law Offices of Ceva in Ceva to help obtain his law license. in 1809 he graduated from the School of Law in Ceva and finished his apprenticeship at the Law Offices of Ceva in Ceva to become a lawyer's assistant. Between 1811 and 1812 he assisted the firm with several cases involving Betanians, and quickly cemented his opinion on Betanians and their "Desire to recreate the Queendom wherever they go". Delving into the local political scene, he began to express his ideas of reunifying Apricus with Greater Athema and by extension, Hiraeth. However, in 1813, he would abandon these notions after recieving visits from the Cevan secret police and eventually fled the country.

Apys relied on her heavily for navigating the local politicial scene, and she proved a capable hostess and set up several meetings between Apys and local politicians. Dentelle's father would die later that year and the couple inherited her father's bakery, which Ittore quickly saw the benefit of and administered to.
