Joshua Partridge Kingsley Canning (/ˈpɑːtrɪdʒ/; born February 2nd, 1979) is an Insulamian author and politician, who is serving as the 16th and current prime minister of Insulamia since 1 January 2021 and the leader of the People's Party since 29 March 2020. He was the mayor of St. Peter from 2008 to 2012, a member of Parliament for Cottopey since 2012, and the Minister of Education from 2015 to 2020. His political views have been described as democratic socialist. As an author, Canning is most known for his political works, both fiction and non-fiction, including Colourblind (2011), Survival of the Richest (2003), and Fighting Fire with Napalm (2014).
