Politics of Vyvland |
The Democratic Socialist Party is a Vyvlander democratic socialist party, founded in 2013 by prominent left-wing politicians from the Socialists as a splinter group, rejecting the Socialists' ongoing cenjre-weg ziveng (centre-wards shift) away from socialism to social democracy. The party describes itself as taking inspiration from Namor's Democratic Socialist Party, although the Namorese namesake is further to the political centre. The Democratic Socialists received three seats in the 2013 general election.
The Democratic Socialists' leader, Anjela Oj, had been Domestic Minister prior to the 2011 National Commission reshuffle, while deputy leader Anton Kreg was the Health Minister from 2011 to 2013. However, both resigned in early 2013 to found the Democratic Socialists.
