The Assasination of Barren F. Walsh was an assasination targeted to Barren F. Walsh, as well as represenatives of the NEPA.

Planning

In 2005, following the death of the previous administrator of NEPA Adam Jones, Barren Walsh was given the role of the next administrator for his involvement in revolutionary changes in environmental protections when he was president of Nexalan. A receptionist working for a representative of NEPA, Selene Barbara was unhappy of the election of him becoming the administrator of NEPA, Selene Barbara reportedly was extremely far right and made many posts of social media stating that every democratic person in Nexalan should die in a form of brutal way, when Barren F. Walsh was given administration Selene created a public forum titled Death to Walsh., where she made many posts about her status as an employee at NEPA and what Barren Walsh did, this included what meetings he had, certain phone calls, and places he went too, the forum gained lots of attention, including to Barren F. Walsh who warned employees to take down the forum due to its illegal activity, during the time Selene was anonymous from being the creator of the forum, it wasn't until September 2009, when Selene made her final post to the forum saying "I am Selene Barbara, a woman of free speech who is now being forced by the radical-lefty Barren Walsh to take down the forum, I don't care what they do to me, if ill go to prison, or if I get on the news, for the better people of Nexalan will punish Walsh for who he is." When the post became public, Selene was immediately terminated from her position as a receptionist and was taken into custody for two months, however due to free speech laws in Nexalan, the court determined that while what she did was privacy invading, it was relatively "ok" material to be made public. She was given 2 months in jail and 2 years of probation. Following her prison sentence, she created an IED from materials in her possession, making it hard for her probation officer to find suspicious.

Attack

On January 1st, 2010 at 10:58 am, a meeting with Barren F. Walsh was organized with representatives of NEPA to discuss plans for upcoming projects, when Selene Barbara shot and killed a security guard who was standing outside the Left Wing entrance of NEPA, she then entered the left wing and threatened an employee to show where Barren F. Walsh was at the moment, or she would be killed, the employee refused to do so and was shot and killed. She later shot another employee in the shoulder who was walking down a hallway next to the conference room and pretended to be dead. Selene then forcefully broke into the conference room where Barren F. Walsh was in and activated the bomb, killing everyone in the room and injuring many employees in neighboring floors and offices. Before the bomb was activated, security footage can be heard that Selene yells "Free speech for the people!". Police and ambulance responded when other employees called emergency lines. Originally, the police mistakenly found a janitor at NEPA as a suspect and temporarily took him in, before less than two hours later when it was revealed that it was not him and that it was a suicide bombing.
