2015 Boquense winter heat wave
Dates 2 July 2015 to 11 July 2015
Areas affected Northern-Centre regions of Republic of La Boca

The 2015 Boquense winter heat wave was a period of unusual and exceptionally hot weather that arrived at the end of the winter on July 2015 in Republic of La Boca. Several autonomous communities of the country were most affected. Several records were broken. July 2015 was the warmest month since official measurements began. On 2 July 2015, it felt like the middle of summer late last week in the heart of Republic of La Boca even with the calendar showing more than two months remaining in the Southern Hemisphere winter.

A shot of tropical heat drawn unusually far southward hiked temperatures above normal in the city of Quilmes and across the south-central regions of the country.

Even though normal high temperatures for beginning July are near 9 °C (48 °F), readings topped 37 °C (99 °F) degrees at midweek, then topped out above 41 °C (106 °F) degrees during the weekend.

Temperatures hit 38 °C (100 °F) on 3 July and finally 41 °C (106 °F) on 4 July in Quilmes, making it the hottest day ever recorded in winter.

Elsewhere in Republic of La Boca, the northern city of Tigre reached a dramatic high of 45 °C (113 °F) degrees on 4 July 2015. Another city, Floresta, registered 49 °C (120 °F) degrees on 2 July, compared to the normal high of around 27 °C (81 °F).
