Hran X Airport (Ardalian: Zracna Luka X Hran) or Hran Airport (Zracna Luka Hran) (IATA: HRN, ICAO: LCHN) is an international airport serving Hranm Ardalia. It is the largest airport in Ardalia. In 2022, it handled 4.92 million passengers and nearly 18,000 tons of cargo.
Named after X, the airport is located 10 km (6.2 mi) southeast of Hran in Velika Gorica. It is the hub of the national flag carrier Ardalia Airlines. The main base for the Ardalian Air Force is also located on the airport's premises. Air traffic control for the entire country is situated on the grounds of the airport.
The airport is owned by the HAIC Consortium (Hran Airport International Company) under a 30-year concession with the Government of Ardalia. The contract included the financing, designing, and construction of a new passenger terminal which opened in 2017. For the purpose of managing the airport, the consortium established a operating company called MZLH.
The airport recently opened a completely new terminal building stretching over 65,800 m2 (708,000 sq ft) on three floors featuring three baggage carousels, 8 air bridges, 9 security checkpoints, 30 check-in desks, 23 passport control booths (manned by the National Police) and a car park with the capacity of 3,100 vehicles. There are three remote stands beside the terminal and another 23 available for use at the old terminal during the peak season. Departing passengers can eat and shop at over 19 locations and purchase duty-free goods as they enter the departure area. Plans are currently underway to replace the original terminal building with an extension of the 2018 building which will double the passenger capacity and introduce another 6 air bridges, reducing the need for remote stands.
Besides using a private car (or taxi), the airport can be accessed by an express bus operated by Tranzitna Hran that runs to the city center every 20 minutes. There have been preliminary discussions between the Hran City Council and the Darvas Government about bringing the metro to the terminal building to provide a speedier service but no plans have been drawn up to date.
