The company was established in 1957, and it is partially controlled by the government as it is a Half-State Owned Company. The first phone produced by Amudarja Phone was created in 1980.
Amudarja Phones has lot of smaller "sectors" which each are directed onto specific product. Those are Amudarja Computers, Amudarja Televisions, Amudarja Appliances.
It is named after the Boratstanian river of Amudarja, the founder of Amudarja Phones went there and liked the landscape, and choose to name it like that.
