Prior to becoming the leader of the Progressive Conservatives, she was a backbencher representing Donnaconna's 14th District and a prominent member of the Serkonan PC Caucus. Following the 2015 elections, with the support of dissatisfied PC members and challenged then-PC leader Morten Nordskov for the leadership of the party.
