Doitlan, officially the Doit Empire, is a nation in central Europe. It is bordered by Sranca to the west, Magarsha to the south, Transinta to the southeast, and Polonia to the northeast. It has a coast with the North Sea to the north and the Danube Sea to the southeast.

Doitlan has in recent decades increasingly been under proxy control by Magarsha. Doitlan is a member of the ESEP, placing them in even more danger of falling to Magarsha. Doitlan naturally ranks low in political freedom, but has gradually been decreasing in civil liberties and HRC-FS human rights resulting from increased Magarshan presence and corruption.

Doitlan’s economy is based in agriculture and requires outside support to sustain life. Doitlan has a larger than average presence of Magarshan military due to its strategic proximity to Nava and the Danish Strait. It is also one of few places in the Magarshan realm of influence to grow cereal grains, giving cheap and plentiful food sources to Saharan mine cities.

Etymology

Doit is one of the oldest cultures in the world and the current term descends from the first term used. The term likely meant "of the people" or simply "people." For a long period of time, the term Germany was used by Glish speakers. This stemmed from the original term used by ancient Roman statesmen to refer to barbarians to the north of the Roman Empire. The term was eventually dropped and Doitlan was adopted when the country was founded in 2374.
