The Kingdom of Zōsenia was a nation in the Celestial Island Chain during the Classical Antiquity Era. The nation reigned from 126BGD-227GD, with it being a major Naval Power in the beginning of the 1st Century BGD. The Zōseniako were also into ship building and were masters of the Sea for one hundred years.

Zōsenia was major trading hub in the region, and had grown wealthy from its neighbors trading in its ports. The Tenno did not want war, and mostly faught with Pirates in the Magna Sea. It wasn't until 69BGD that a nation had wanted to surpass Zōseniako domination of the Seas. The Oars Wars from 39BGD-19BGD was a series of wars between Zōsenia and Equila to see who would be the major naval power.

History

Origins

After the great migration out of Iacrix during the 12th Century BGD, the people now known as Zōseniako. They migrated due to increasing inland coldness in their region. They arrived by boat to the land known as Hisuishima(English: Jade Island), now where the state of Zōsenika is. For 1100 years, people on the island had relative peace, with barely any violence between the tribes. It was until 150sBGD that wars happened. This was caused by the Ushikai Clan which were cattlemen in the plains of the island. They started attacking the Ryōshi Clan due to a trade dispute. The Plains War(155BGD-153BGD) was a between the Ushikai verse the Ryōshi. The Ryōshi were victorious and captured the Ushikai territory. During this time, Ryōshi was becoming more powerful, and by 148 BGD, had half the island under direct control. On 19 March 147, The Ōji's of the few clans that were independent formed the Bōei Rengō or Defense Confederation to hold off anymore incursions by the Ryōshi Clan.

After a period of peace on the island, it was in 131BGD, the Ryōshi Clan launched a surprise attack on one of the Bōei Rengō's villages, killing the civilians and razing the village. This sparked the Kimeru War (Deciding War). During the Kimeru War, many of the Bōei Rengō leaders died in a series of battles, with only two of the seven leaders alive by 129BGD. One of them was Asari Ankoku, part of the Ankoku Clan who would be the first Tenno of Zosenia; the other was Kamino Kiyoshi who would be one of the greatest generals in all of the Celestial Island chain. In the year of 126BGD, the Bōei Rengō army faced off with the Ryōshi Clan in the Battle of Peaks Hill. It was a decisive victory for the Bōei Rengō after the capture of Ryōshi Clan leader, Miyazaki Ikemoto by Kamino Kiyoshi. It ended the war, and united the island under the Ankoku Clan. Asari Ankoku was proclaimed Tenno by the people of Hisuishima and would proclaim the Kingdom of Zōsenia.

Rise of Zōsenia

When Asari declared the Kingdom, his mission was to dominate the Celestial Island Chain with tribute states. However, before any of that, the Kingdom was in need of repair after years of bloodshed and war. The economy was in crisis and many previous industries like Farming and Mineral mining were all burned or destroyed by opposing forces in the war. Asari's first ever decree, which would later be called the Reforms of Genichi, was rebuilding the agricultural centre around the small village of Katai. After a few years of healing the soil and making it arable, the food production boomed in the Kingdom. With food production on the rise, birth rates grew the population of the Kingdom from only 140,000 to 362,000 citizen in less than 5 years. With this period of peace and stability, many saw this as a blessing from the gods. This also created a cult following of Asari, proclaiming him God of Agriculture.
