The Guéron-Freage Commission is the name of the scientific commission which originally studied the climatic and environmental effects (specifically global cooling, the expansion of arctic ice caps, and the decrease in phytoplankton) of the strategic nuclear exchange between the Soviet Order and Licana at the conclusion of the Omandan Continental War. The commission is named after the scientific pair that most extensively studied these effects, Julien Guéron of Notreceau and Alfonso Freage of Abrahar, who led the extranational research team between 1996-2016 and produced a number of reports and suggestions concerning the issue. Reports 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 15 directly address global cooling and its causes, whereas reports 4, 6, 9, and 14 concern the first theorized and then observed growth of arctic ice sheets and the potential ramifications of this phenomenon. Finally reports 7 and 13 concern phytoplankton levels and other aquatic-life research and reports.
Following the conclusion of the commission in 2016, both Guéron and Freage co-founded the Institute for Nuclear Rectification and Remission. The INRR is an extranational non-government organization that focuses on the continued study of these effects and advocates for the restriction of nuclear weapons and funding for the cleanup of nuclear sites.
