The Esthur Air and Space Force (Lrm) (Atlish: Loftromþsmiht, lit. Force of the Skies and Space) is the air and space force of the Esthur Armed Forces. Initially formed in 1911 as the Loftsþaning (lit. Service of the Skies), a service arm of the Esthurs' Army, it transitioned into a fully fledged arm of the Esthur Armed Forces in 1929. On 24 November, 2020, it assumed its current name, the Esthur Air and Space Force, to "adapt to the new, modern duties of the Force."
The number of aircraft in service within the Esthur Air and Space Force varies depending on the source; the Redery of Defence gives a figure of 1104 aircraft in 2021. This figure includes 390 combat aircraft, if incorporating 2019 government data. As of 2021,[update] the Esthur Air and Space Force employed a total of 83,200 regular personnel, with a reserve element numbering 9,010.
The Head of Staff of the Esthur Air and Space Force is a tier below the Head of the Defence Force, a military officer who in turn answers to the constitutionally civilian Redery of Defence.

Modern day
In the Army 2015 plans proposed by incoming Forethane Harold Osborne and his then-Reeve for Defence Aldrick Guiseley, a centralised space force was to be established by 2025 within the air force. This was adapted to including "space" in both the central objectives of the air force and in its name, carried out in late 2020.
