Execester is the fourth-most populous city of both Osynstry and its sovereign state, Esthursia. Execester was the second capital of the Classical Empire from the 12th to the 16th century, when the city of Weskerby replaced it as capital of Esthursia. Despite this, Execester remains the largest port city in Esthursia and continues to hold strong links with its maritime history, with tourism, shipbuilding, trade and travel a key part of its economy and culture. In recent decades, Execester has seen slower growth than the rest of the country, resulting in some degree of deprivation, especially in regions affected by deindustrialisation - despite this, Execester remains more affluent than its traditional rival, Esthampton, and recently has invested in a financial and high tech sector. Execester enjoys strong transport links with Brantley, Fjármagn, Rennezh and Weskerby as a result of its central location as a nexus between the three, and maritime dominance.
