The Region of South Mazuria (Sloverti: Južné Mazuŕy ; Polish: Ziemie Północne) is one of the eight Sloveti administrative regions and consists of 19 Municipalities (obec) and 320 departments, The region was established in 1855 after the Sloverti-Mazurian war of 1851-1855 in which South Mazuria which was an indepednent state from 1815 until 1855 invaded the Sloverti city of Brativas claiming it to be their rightful territory. The lost the war and were annexed by Slovertia. It is a more industrial region with several large towns. Piękno północy is the region administrative center and there is a strong cultural environment. Ziemie polnocne Region is the home to the majority of people of Polish ethnicity living within Slovertia. South Mazuria has a strong indentity and many living there wish for it to suceed from Slovertia.

The level of urbanization is relatively low, with about 56% of the population living in the towns, According to the 2016 census, there were 791,723 inhabitants in the region, almost wholly Mazurians (78.5%), with Slovetis making up most of the rest (<21%) and Roma (<0.5%).
Thd Mazurian people of Northern Slovertia and Southern Nikolia speak Mazurian.
Economy
The main employers are industry and tourism and the coal industry which is the beating heart of the region and a major sector in the sloveti economy. There is a strong industrial base in Piękno północy with wood pulp and engineering factories as well as AMZ car manufacturing plants.
