The Mahmudaisyah Cabinet is the incumbent cabinet of the Federation of the Alezian Union. It was established after an election was called by the interim government of the Alezian Union, making it the second cabinet to be sworn in and the first to be democratically elected after the country's first ever election on the 1st of November 2021 as a reunified country resulted in a large Liberal-Democratic loss albeit still with the ability to arrange a cabinet together with the winning party MEME (Mutual Empowerment and Mass Equality) Party and the Green, Internationalist, and Native Alezian Parties.
Sa'idah Mahmudaisyah presented her cabinet composition and programme on the 4th of January 2022 to the National Council and in 11th of January 2022 to the National Parliament. It simplifies the previously criticized Interim Cabinet's 32 ministries down to 18. The arrangement of the Mahmudaisyah cabinet was arranged by the result of the 2021 election.
A unique aspect of the formation of the Mahmudaisyah Cabinet is in regards to how the head of state is a Liberal Democratic while the majority of the cabinet are part of the MEME Party. Meanwhile, the National Council shall remain the directorial government of the Alezian Union and it was decided that five non-ministers would be admitted as non-ministerial cabinet members. The MEME Party was initially going to be allocated 8 seats. However, MEME gave one seat to an independent minister Teuf Bartholf for the position of Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Maritime Affairs
Party | Election 2021 Seats | Coalition % | Cabinet Seats | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Liberal Democratic | 115 | 19.97% | 4 | |
MEME | 267 | 46.35% | 7 | |
Green | 92 | 15.97% | 3 | |
Internationalist | 42 | 7.29% | 1 | |
Native Alezian | 60 | 10.42% | 2 | |
Independent | - | - | 1 (Bartholf) |
Currently, two parliamentary blocs within the Alezian Parliament acted as opposition to the Mahmudaisyah cabinet: the Socialist bloc led by the Socialist-Labour party and the Conservative bloc led by the Joint Conservative List. However, due to the ideological differences between the two separate blocs, the two blocs rarely acted as a joint opposition and instead acted separately from each other.
Sa'idah Mahmudaisyah herself confirmed in a press conference that she wouldn't run for reelection for the next Premiership election, making this her last cabinet before the next Alezian General Election.
