Alraune is an antihero in a possible future of Realms. Unique among other vampires, her Soul Arsenal, Left Wing of the Universe, allows her to drain the life force of beings around her without drinking their blood, earning her the moniker of Lifetaker.

Design

Alraune is a young Asian woman with long, black, and often messy hair parted in the middle. Like her predecessor Camilla, Her Mark of the Starchild can only be seen as a complete image of Gemini when next to her sister's. It's coloured black and located on her left hand.

She is often seen wearing gothic lolita style dresses and a black rose on her person, either on her head or on her dress. The condition of this rose reflects her own, being wilted and weak when she is injured and vibrant when she is unharmed. The mechanism behind this is unknown.

Personality

Alraune is an aloof, quiet, and seemingly emotionless woman who has been seen to enjoy time alone with her thoughts and powers. Despite her desensitisation towards sights that would shock or terrify others, she displays an almost childlike blunt honesty, as well as a lack of social awareness and understanding of the concept of morality. While she has no qualms about harming and killing other beings as an exploration of her spiritual capabilities, she also lacks the malevolent tendencies to do so often and unprovoked, at least towards weaker sentient beings or creatures she considers "cute". She is intrigued by strong individuals and wonders how they would fare against her Soul Arsenal, and she is silent or withdrawn towards people she considers weak. This is why she is almost always accompanied by her twin sister, who acts as her moral guide and sometimes, spokesperson, as in her words, Alraune would be "an unspeakable terror to the galaxy" if she were left without Aurora's care, compassion, and restraint.

Though she often looks lethargic and expressionless, she has a tendency to go into laughing fits on the rare occasions she does laugh, a trait that surprises many other characters.

Alraune enjoys the visual arts, both as a creator and as a viewer. She keeps a foldable tablet around for her to draw anything she finds interesting or whatever comes to mind in that moment.

Tactics

Realms of the Multiverse

As with most members of the Starchild Society, Alraune takes one trait from her prime counterpart, (in her case, Camilla), and takes it further, balanced by considerable drawbacks. Alraune has the most to gain from her life draining mechanics, healing for 100% of the damage she deals with her Skills at the cost of possible friendly fire (except to Aurora). As these skills have an area of effect around her, she is great for crowd control despite her lackluster Health and Defence, especially considering her astronomically high Spirituality stat. That being said, it's advised that one puts her in a party with Aurora and no melee characters. She is best played as an implacable, walking kill zone while the rest of the party sattelites her and attack enemies from range and/or protect her from ranged attacks.

Creation and Conception

Alraune was created after a flash of inspiration struck RMD after watching the music video for Girls Never Die from TripleS, specifically the scene where birds inexplicably fall from the sky.

Alraune's name was inspired by the German word for mandrake, a plant believed to grow from the blood of executed criminals, similar to how her Soul Arsenal heals her by draining others. In addition, it was also believed that the children of witches and mandrakes would have no soul, a reference to her monotonous voice and often expressionless face.
