IW-152 is the standard infantry firearm of the Cheonghae Defense Forces(CDF) and the most commonly distributed weapon in the CDF.
History
Design
IW-152 is designed for use in conjunction with the shooting aids system in the standard powered suit. The Infantry Standard Fire Control and Guidance System(IFGS), a shooting aids system installed in the standard powered suit, is connected to the user's brain link computer to recognize the target the user has selected and guide the ammunition to the target. The IFGS accurately tracks the target and directs the ammunition to the target even if the user's gaze is not directed at the target. When the target is behind the cover-up, the IFGS shares the field of view of the scout plane or drone and accurately guides the ammunition beyond the cover.
IW-152 uses the electrothermal chemical percussion function to fire and operate ammunition. This function controls the ignition of the detonator and the explosive charge via electrical energy. The electrothermal chemical percussion function has a longer range and faster ammunition speed than the mechanical firing method used in the past, but requires a dedicated battery. The IW-152's dedicated battery is mounted on the lower part of the rail, providing the power to fire continuously for a total of two hours based on a 200-round detectable nanobot ammunition block.
The key to the IW-152 is the nanobot ammunition block. Nanobot ammunition blocks made up of high-density inert nanobots are activated by the gun's battery and automatically loaded into the gun's chamber. The nanobot ammunition works with the user's brain link computer, and the user can set the nanobots to become explosive grenades, armor-piercing projectiles, and small guided missiles as needed. Nanobot ammunitions are guided toward a target by assembling a suitable projectile within a short time before fire or immediately after launch. The nanobot ammunition, guided by the IFGS, can accurately strike targets moving at high speeds or hidden in cover-ups.
