Enlightment (Lyrian: ᚢᛓᛚᛁᚢᛙᚢᚿ Uppljómun) are a group of republicanist philosophies which began as a movement in Lyrord. Coined by Róðerickur Kárólgarð, the ideology catalyzed the 1817 deposition of the Empire of Lyrord, and has ever since been the guide to the management of the country by the government. Closely interwined with it's derivative deist organization - the Cult of the Enlightment, the Enlightment is described as a highly analytic ideology that opposes monarchism in it's structure and identity and instead patrons the existence of identities by cosmopolitanism. It advocates for the estabilishment of a enlightened state, led under scientific democracy and attendant of the wider population. It also bases it's practices on scientific inquiry, which can be observed with the Cult of the Enlightment.
True leadership arises not from inherited privilege but from the understanding of shared experience. For it is through the trials of the many that one learns the essence of justice, not through the comfort of an unearned throne.
