On August 30th, 2021, an earthquake measuring 8.2 originating 121.3 km (75.3 mi) west of Zouterhem created a tsunami which measured 37.2 m (122 ft) in Sarrapaluk, a town 110.8 km (68.8 mi) south of Zouterhem. At 2:32 PM local time, an alert was issued ordering those that live within a 18.1 km (11.2 mi) radius of the Galton Sea to evacuate inland. 6 hours after the alert was issued, the tsunami struck Zouterhem, although most people within the specified radius of the Galton Sea were already evacuated.

Zouterhem is the capital city of Beatavic, largest and principle city of the Zouterhem metropolitan area and the smallest province in land area. As of 2020 it has a population of 4,216,000 million, being the second largest city in Beatavic in terms of population.

On August 30th, 2021, an earthquake measuring 8.2 originating 121.3 km (75.3 mi) west of Zouterhem created a tsunami which measured 37.2 m (122 ft) in Sarrapaluk, a town 110.8 km (68.8 mi) south of Zouterhem.
