The Kingdom of North Bardonia (Kingdom oz Nörd Bardönia) commonly known as the North-Bardonia, is a country located in Magnaterra neighboring the Kingdom of Eshallia to its southwest and the Commonwealth of Haverade to its North across the Straits of [TBD] and the Penitusian which surrounds the nations on three sides. To its south lies the vast Barican] Desert which consumes much of the southern provinces. The nation has 8 provinces that make up the Kingdom. At 500,805 million square kilometers the nation is of moderate size and dominates all of the Carthian Peninsula. With a population of over 32 million. The national capital is Carthiada and the most populous city is Khariabad. The Kingdom is a federal semi-constitutional monarchy headed by King Erich Leftenson.

The current iteration of the monarchy was restored to power in 2019 after nearly a century in exile after a civil war exiled the royal family, the Leftensons. In modern times North Bardonia partook in the Great War as a power aligned against Hansa after a war of independence thirty years prior but more recently North Bardonian dueled with the Papalanians resulting in the April Coup restoring the monarchy and its ascension into the Vabasian Union.

Etymology
North Bardonian has owed much of their wealth to its massive oil reserves, and it state owned sovereign wealth fund which the oil money has gone into. the oil wealth has been generously invested into state in order to maintain the economy of the nation and the infrastructure that is tied to it. Currently North Bardonia remains dependent on its natural resource reserves but has slowly shifted towards Tourism and Manufacturing since 2019.

North Bardonia is classed as a Newly Emergin Economy with the (TBD) largest economy in the world and the (TBD) largest economy in Magnaterra. North Bardonia is a member of the VU, MEC, DODM, and INTC
Etymology
The name of North Bardonia comes from the Hansan Colonizers. Using the Artevenian word for ‘valuable’ Burdoni came the Hansan word Bardonjia, many Hansans explorer's thing that the lands south of the peninsula would be valuable they named the land were they first colonized (now called the Syclaian Coast) Nord ov Bardonjia (North of Value). This would evolve into, as the Hansan-Carthiadan traders would say Nord Bardonjia. Once receiving independence from Hansa after nearly two hundred years of being under Hansas foot and its ties to the resources of the east that name of Nord Bardonjia would stick. Evolving into to its modern Claycian name of Nörd-Bardönia.

History
History
North Bardonia is a land of empires, from Kharistani Sultanate to the Hansan Empire, the peninsula has been dotted with major powers and their infamous rivalries. North Bardonia was also considered as a beacon of knowledge and power in the aftermath of the formation of Carthiada and her empire spanning large swaths of the Penitusian. Conquered by the expanding Hanseatic empire North Bardonia was the first to successful break away from the empire marking the slow decline of Hansa to a minor power as see in this modern age. Post revolution and after it dabble in the Great War North Bardonia would falter and decline eventually leading to a civil that would result in an ultraconservative government dominated the peninsula for much of the latter half of the 20th century. In the aftermath of a violent conflict with the Vasbian Union in previous years the nation has bounced back after a royalist coup and recently joined the Vasbian Union.

Prehistory and Ancient History
Modern Kingdom
Beginning roughly 160,000 thousand years ago the people of the East Magnaterra naturally moved west for more land. This ‘Slow Migration’ eventually to the nomadic Kowri people to settle in the North of North Bardonia continuing a nomadic lifestyle over the vibrant lands. Around 100,000 years ago another group of people coming instead from the west begin the ‘Second Slow Migration’, these people called the Bedouin which continues to roam in the south to this day chose the western coast to settle. Yet again nearly 50,000 years ago another group coming from the east escaping persecution arrived in a ‘Third Slow Migration’ to take over the over all parts of the Western Coastline. During this time early settlements have been noted dotting around the coast, the oldest of which, known as ‘Mothbridge’ is dated to around 32,000 years ago.

In more recent history around 2000 B.C.E. The first Old Faith settlers fleeing from persecution in the north crossed the Straits of Fate in the nation of what’s known known as Jaredistan and Tribia where a short passage allowed for small rafts to cross the Penitusian allowing many peoples to travel into the region of Western Magnaterra. These settlers chose to move east and eventually discovered themselves in the ‘Carthia’ (Promised) River Valley. Here, where the Carthia meet the sea they built a dozen towns in the delta (ada) of the river and began using agriculture and aquaculture naming this area the Promised Delta (Carthiada). Slowly as Carthiada expanded the people within it would be divided into towns where each town would via for food, land, trade and weapons.

Carthiada
Geography
Around thousand five hundred years the settlement was established a group of northern Kowri people raided Carthiada, destroying many of the towns and settlements and in combination with major flooding the following year much of the towns and crops were destroyed. In order to counteract the events of the previous year and with the supposed coming of a saint of the knowing, Saint Martin of the Water, the city build walls surrounding itself and built large scale farms going up the river. St Martin helped build the first lighthouse and then became the city’s first Archpriest and built the Cathedral of Carthiada (also know as the Cathedral of St Martin of the Water).
North Bardonia is mainly a peninsula, comprising a large area of coastline running along the penitusian yet boxed into the territory by the dunes of the Barican Desert, roughly [TBPIL] across and [TBPIL] wide the nation is sizable and runs the course form the equator southwards leading to a diverse climate and biological range going from rainforests to deserts. North Bardonia is also defined by a mountain chain riding up the center of the penitsula towards the city of Uiortel, this range peaks at 2 kilometers.

Following the completion of the dock in 500 BCE Carthiada began rapidly expanding and conquer surrounding areas as well as becoming a trading empire in the eastern Penitusian Sea. This age of rapid expansion would grow under the Hegemony (and its Hegemons) with its connection to Biggonia in the city of Chabendar in 150 CE. This age was overseen by the greatest General of North Bardonia and Carthiada, Polemarch Ispilheous Draka.

Climate
North Bardonia is a rather arid to the south of the country where the southern plains are mainly covered in sand and rock. This region borders Eshallia to its west and this region receives roughly 29.3 millimetres of rainfall per year during the winter months of July and August. An aspect of the climate of North Bardonia is the reversed seasons with summer occurring during December to March and Winter from June to September.

The Central parts of North Bardonia, to the North of Carthiada is still arid but is more vibrant in life with the Rivers Carthia and Parthia maintaining a booming range of wildlife. This central area is home to a large variety of species and is home to the Bush (a large savanna that flows into a steppe as we move closer to the equator. The ecological growth of this region is full of both flora and fauna.

In the 200 CE following the fall of Chabendar the Long Decline of Carthiada would begin.

Wildlife
The slow collapse of the Carthiadan Empire from the 3rd century to the 12th century first major action would be the Sack of Carthiada in 302 by Carthiada main regional rival, Deims Kir, would lead to the creation of Khari language and Kharistan as a whole. Follow major military defeats in the subject states of Carthiada to it west it would begin the age of piracy to supplement lack of trade. These raids would pester much of the Penitusian coast and were a principal part of the downfall of Carthiada as a trade power. As the nations around it grew more aggressive and the once mighty Carthiadan fleet was depleting after loses and lack of wood to restore the fleet.

It was here in the early 850’s that a Plutocratic Oligarchy would form, led by the Polemarch, a once meaningful position as the leader of the armies now lowered to a state of de jure leader of the state. The Council of State (Cöincil oz Stadt) was the real power behind the collapsing and deteriorating state of Carthiada. Across its peninsula was the only major Carthiadan controlled port not located in the Carthia Sea (Promised Sea) was Krondor (Crowns Gate). Krondor in 862 would declare independence and form its own republic establishing itself as a trading port much like Ancient Carthiada.

Predators
For the next 400 years many minor wars were fought as the decline of the Southern North Bardonian peninsula occurred. In the north the blooming Sultanate of Kharistan and it rival in the Mathetists Republic of Cordo Fa (foreshadowing the rise of Mathetism in North Bardonia) allowed both states to advance heavily but both were pinned by the Uiortel mountains and the Penitusian Sea. All the states of the peninsula would be devastated by the Plague of 902, Plague of 1086, and the Plague of 1198.
Prey
After the plagues the Mathetist in southern Amnis and Cordo Fa were looking hungry the Carthia River and the Esdean River which provided bountiful food and place to spread Christianity. Specifically the Archbishop of Cordo Fa called for crusades to take control over Kharistan and Carthiada. This began the First Crusades (from 1203-1221) and the Inquisition (1218-1302).
Topography
The First Crusade saw the Mathetist states move southwards, bypassing The Sultanate of Kharistan and heading straight for the major cities of Forthlanding and establishing numerous city states (including Piortel and Uiortel) along the way. These city states would expel and execute Non-Mathetists as a part of the Inquisition. The First Crusade would also see the rise of the Principality of Coulthal and it ruling the Dynasty: The Solen.

As the south became more united over the aftermath of the First Crusade the longstanding house of Leftenson would gain there first Nobel title, Earl of Oxbow, in the aftermath of the Tomas Leftenson leading Carthiada’s militas to victory at the Battle of Oxbow. As skirmishes intensified in the aftermath of the First Crusade eventually lead to the Second Crusade (1256-1267).

The Second Crusade was more interesting than the First Crusade as there was a lot of military and economic buildup to the Crusade. Bishops in Piortel and Uiortel called for war whilst the Bishop of Forthlanding called against (before being burned as a Heretic). In the south a ‘League of the Knowing’ was formed against the ‘Mathetists League’ of the north. This war would last over ten years with numerous minor battles and skirmishes which would slowly degrade the quality of troops. Its aftermath with the beginning of a dark age which would last for over 500 years would begin.

During the 1400’s and 1500’s numerous traders and pirates would come across the Bardonian coasts. Trading and bring glimpse of prosperity that had once been. Several sacking occurred from 1543 to 1562 wheee much of the population of North Bardonia fled inland. This down period of Bardonian Civilisation became know as the ‘Ravine of Civilisation’ or ‘The Little Dark Age’.

“Why do we die… why do we burn… why does civilisation fall…. Only the Knowing may know and that is our destined path” -A Time of Tribulation, Magistrate Egmund (1592), Libraries of the Old Faith

It was also around this time that the philosophers, monks, priests, and fellows of the Old Faith realized the the organised coastal settlements was too much of a threat to the Old Faithers and the threat of stealing ancient knowledge was very threatening. They chose to fortify a large mountain settlement close to Carthiada, they called this fortress library Carthiayer Today it remains as the spiritual head of the Old Faith and its highest authority the Magisterium.

Colonization
First Kingdom
During the first year's post Independence the new kingdom began forming the codes and systems that would make up the bulk of the government over the first three years post-independence. King Edvark, the first truly independent ruler of the whole peninsula, also began playing the game of diplomacy by strengthening the alliances he already had, such as with Buchbach, to maintain the sovereignty of the Kingdom. As a part of this defensive plan for the first three years around 40% of the state coffers flowed into the military, with a small fleet and a decent sized, well trained and equip, army (and by 1911 a small Airforce).

After the conclusion of this 'interim' government a general election was held to fill the halls of the newly constructed parliament and to turn the absolute monarchy into a constitutional one, following the Idaina system of Tayichi. That general election of 1899 saw the election of Paulus Claasen as Minister-President of the Liberal Party (221 seats) with the opposition being formed by the Conservatives (149) and the Farmer-Labour Party (35) and a dozen other smaller parties (45). The Claasen Administration had embarked on a series of land reforms and suffrage reforms that gave all men aged 18 and above the right to vote. Many of these action and political maneuvers were all to help industrialize the nation. By 1909 (End of the Classen Administration) the urban growth had helped boost the population by three million (a feat which occurred again in 1919).

In July of 1908 King Edvark Leftensons health would rapidly deteriorate with His Majesty having suffered a stroke and doctors began fearing for the worse. By the tenth of July the Kings condition had fallen to such a state that the medical technology of the time could no longer help His Majesty and by the twelfth Edvark had died. Immediately his son Crown Prince Edvark ascended to the throne, but his coronation only occurred in October of the same year.

The conclusion of the Classen Administration in 1909 also saw the right for women to vote. The female suffrage movement which had started in 1899 had fought for a decade and won their vote under this logic: “While the men were fighting to keep the country free, we we’re feeding them and keeping the books in check”.

In 1909 the electorate choose to elect a more conservative government, the Liberal Party (129) was the opposition with the Conservative Party (171) aligned with the Christian Party (30), the rest of the opposition was carried by the Farmers Labour Party (101) and other minor political groups (19). This government was headed by Sir Phillip Hyde (a Hansan colonist) and began a more frugal approach to governance. The Hyde Administration oversaw the ‘Golden Age’ of the Arts, Literature, and Drama. The culture of North Bardonia flourished and thrived under the short-lived Hyde Administration.

Phillip Hyde’s conservative government would come crashing down after a General Strike (The Dockworkers Strike of 1913) and lead to the Farmer-Labour government of 1914-1923. The General Strike that caused the collapse of The Hyde Administration was started by the Minimum Wage Act which would have lowered the minimum wage by 0.50 Krowns. This and another round of monopolizations that lead to the laying off and lower of wages of around 10,000 dockworkers, rail workers and other industrial laborers lead to the General Strike that forced the governments hand and created a sympathy for the workers.

So, in 1914 the Farmer Labour Party (243) became the governing party with the Liberals (102) again becoming the opposition and the Christian Party (45) and the Conservatives (50) controlling the opposition with again a minority of other parties (10) caring the rest of the Parliament. The Farmer-Labour Government was headed by former Labour Minister Sir Jon Halmant. The Halmant Administration immediately began passing labour reforms benefiting the people and continued the economic growth of the previous Administration.

Halmant also began the process of breaking the Trade Monopolies that had dominated industry for the last decade. The Fair-Trade Commission (an organization that remains to this day) investigated and dissolved major monopolies in the coal, dock, steel, rail and other industries. With fair trade secured by 1919 the FLP was re-elected. During the early twenties the popularity of the Farmer-Labour Party would slowly decline with a period of economic stagnation. In 1923 the FLP was forced out by a motion of no confidence leading to a joint Conservative-Liberal-Christain-National (a new political party formed in 1917 and won 12 seats in 1919). This interim government was forced to last far longer than the expected date. The reason: the Great War.

The Great War
With the Great War beginning the Grand Coalition of all political parties was formed with each party gaining a respective ministry and control of a government office. This led to a very unstable coalition that was seen as a necessary government for the Great War.

By 1928 the Grand Coalition and its government had grounded the nation to a halt with corruption running rampant.

The Old Faith
The Old Faith
The Old Faith is the largest religious organisation in North-Bardonia and is also the oldest. The diaspora of Old Faithers outside of North Bardonia is mainly cantered in Domlandian, [TBD] and [TBD]. Established roughly 4500 B.C. in Central Vabas. The followers of the Faith for a number of reasons, particularly famine in the region, war and religious persecution chose to leave the safety of Central Vabas and journey south towards the Vabas Strait. From there they traveled towards modern day Carthiada and established the great city on the Carthia River. This, the Carthia River, is truly the heartland of the Old Faith.

The Religious doctrine of the Old Faith centers around their Deity, the Knowing. The Knowing main teaching to its followers is to enjoy the earth and the blessings the Knowing has provided and enjoy the act of learning about the world. The Knowings core tenets excluding the main practice of enjoying the world are codified in the Book of the Prophet Martin; the doctrine requires the worship of the Knowing in the form of prayer and not to bring harm to self and of course help those and aid those who can’t help themselves.

The MCNB is the one of the three main Mathesit body of North Bardonia and is a Pontificate organization in itself. The organization was preceded by the [TBD], an official body organized by the Hansan Colonial Council in 1792 and by the Council of Lordsfountain (1435)

North Bardonians leaps in medical care have always been prevalent, and one of the finest of these achievements have been the development of the first Heart transplant in 1967 at the University of Carthiada Amerston Medical Collage by Doctor Bernard Christfeldt. This medical milestone was encouraged by the North Bardonian Government which wanted to develop the medical standing of North Bardonia.

The Parliament of North-Bardonia (Parliämentar oz Nörd-Bardönia) is made up three body’s; Chamber of the Senate, Chamber of Commons, and Chamber of Notables. The tricameral status of North Bardonia allows for a balance of power between the People, States, Clergy, Nobility and the King. The Commons, as it called is headed by the Minister-President (Ministerat-Prezidant) who is the head of the largest Party and the Government.

Principality of Kharistan:
The Commons is the largest body and has the most legislative power passing bills, acts, and laws without much oversight from the two other houses. This is unless of course the King wishes the Senate to review a law in which a vote is called in the Senate (and for amendments and legislation involving the provinces) which is then passed to the Notables (also for amendments). The King has the most important role in the Notables and enforces the influences the votes in the Notables.

North Bardonia uses a combination of First Past the Post and Proportionate Electoral System to decide its Commons and a FPTP for its Senate. For the Commons 420 Seats are decided by people directly from their respective electoral district and 300 divided amongst the provinces using the Proportionate a system.

Interestingly the Constitution ignores the succession of females to the throne and instead only refers to the monarch as “King” which lead to a Male Primogeniture being inshrined as law.

The legal system of North Bardonia is a complicated web of interwoven institutions and articles that align to form a legal framework of North Bardonia. Courts are chosen by an independent guild that also anoints High Court members with the Kings Approval (The Kings Seal). With this independent guild the legal system is established around it. The government has to major legal offices that influence the courts: The Prosecutor-General and the Inspector-General. The former organizes trials alongside the guild and orders the beginning of investigations (through the Inspector-General) and is the only office that may authorize arrest of Parliamentarians. The latter office is responsible for the investigation of crimes and gathering evidence and works closely with the constabulary. It also operates its own federal investigative service: The Inspection Office.

Woman’s Rights
North Bardonia is currently a member of both the Vasbian Union (VU) and the Magnaterran Economic Community (MEC). North Bardonia is also royally tide to Buchbach, through the royal marriages of Clarissa Leftenson to Orion and Philip Leftenson to Ethel.
Womens rights in North Bardonia has fluctuated throughout the many centuries and many nations that have occupied the peninsula. The first token appreciation towards women in North Bardonia was in Carthiada where women could technically vote and take part in government, but this vote was extremely difficult to obtain as the requirements were constricted by the Carthiadan Senate.

In the early years of the Kingdom of North Bardonia a campaign for woman’s suffrage and universal suffrage would take the rights of women back to new heights where modern women where treated nearly equal to men at that time and during the Great War would become key parts of North Bardonia Industry. This shortlisted spree of Women’s Rights would end in 1933 with the formation of the Republic of North Bardonia.

In the 1960’s & 1970’s the suffrage movement returned with the Civil Rights Act of 1968 lead by the Democratic Liberal Party and other liberal political movements. The return of Civil Rights to women in 1968 would also lead to other civil reforms in the 70’s. Domestic Violence though in regions such as Surdistan and Kharistan is very common.

Human Rights
In modern North Bardonia Human Rights abuses have been common and been documented heavily. Domestic violence and assault is common in many regions specifically those where Surdic and Khari people occupy land. Additionally the federal government has, on multiple occasions, conducted raids, operations and full scale conflicts with minority groups with North Bardonia. Most recently the Royal Goverment in 2021 invaded Vrejemland after secessionist took control during the Electoral and Political crisis of 2021. In the past the National Goverment of President Symon Haldbert invaded Kharistan and on multiple occasions events of mass murder was document, this all took place during the Kharistan Emergency.

LGBT+ Rights
In modern North Bardonia the rights of the LGBT minority still remain in a hot topic. It is legal for homosexuals to marry in a civil service and a few Matheist organization will conduct a ceremony but the Old Faith and a majority of Matheist groups don't recognize the marriage. Transpeople are unfortunately not recognized and any doctor or medical personal who work with Transpeople to give them the necessary procedure do have their licenses revoked. Though there is still much debate on the topic the rights of these individuals the Government has refused to acknowledge the existents of this group.

Free Speech
Today freedom of speech is one of the most well documented, and well protected rights of North Bardonians. Currently the government guarantees freedom of speech, and guarantees the legality of obscenity, criticism of the government, blasphemy and defamation (in most cases with exclusions to defamation that is used in a 'political arena and within the tools of industry"). However, Hate Speech remains in the center of a new legal debate as it is currently legal under the Freedom of Speech Laws but is still legal, censorship is also still legal in some cases and sedition remains illegal under government statue.

Foreign Relations
The Kingdom of North Bardonia contains a large Foreign and Diplomatic Office with numerous subdepartments for the many nations North Bardonia is diplomatically tide too. North Bardonia has also had the pleasure of membership in numerous diplomatic, economic and military alliances over the ages. In modern times North Bardonia has joined the Vasbian Union (2020) in the aftermath of the Papalanian-Bardonia War (2018). Another economic alliance that North Bardonia has been a member of is the Magnaterran Economic Community since it's joining the organization in 1944. North Bardonia as a monarchy has also maintained the usage of marriages to strike political matches; one of the longest of such is the match making between Bardonia and Buchbach with several matches having been made over the last century culminating in a close relationship between the two. Another major organization North Bardonia is a member of the Directorate of Oil Developing Market since 1976 and is a member state of the International Council.

The Army of North Bardonia has very much shifted throughout the numerous centuries it has operated in. From the ancient Armies of Carthiada commanded from the backs of war elephants to the modern columns of tanks commanded from the safety of a military bunker. In a modern cases of the existence pf a professional fighting force for the nation dates back to the volunteer armies of the North Bardonian Confederacy and of the early kingdom. Now in the modern era the Kings Armies are split in to two; the Royal Landheer (a force made up of volunteer part time soldiers and the bulk of North Bardonia's reservists) and the Royal Legions (a far more professional and fulltime force compared to the Landheer).

The invention of the "Tollway" is something quite seminomas when thoughts of North Bardonias Highway come to mind; unlike the state-run highways, sometimes underdeveloped and undermaintained, these private Tollways have contrastingly been seen as developed, maintained and neat in the structure. These private roads originated from Hansa in the 1880s as private roads privately maintained by private individuals for horses. With the invention of the car many North Bardonias took advantage of the boom and lack of public roads to construct these Tollroads. Several of these roads were constructed in the 1910's between Carthiada and her suburbs before being destroyed (during the Civil War) and absorbed into the Carthiada Roads and Transport Authority (CRTA) in 1934.

The beginning of North Bardonias Highway Age in the 1940's as many Highway projects started by the North Bardonian Highway Administration (NBHA) the private sector would begin the research into the feasibility of the possibility of a large-scale private Tollway system. The first system opened to the public in 1947, the project was the Carthiada-Krondor Tollway (CKT) and was owned and operated by the Carthiada-Krondor Tollway Association (CKTA). CKTA was established in 1940 by several parties interested in the development of a Tollway including a few Government Offices such as: Greyhound Bus Company, NBHA (who also wanted to see the feasibility of a Highway system), the United Municipal Investment Fund (UMIF), and the North Bardonia Road & Rail Shipping Group (NBRRSG). The Tollway charged 50 pence (Half a Krown) for entry into the highway upon its inception and now in 2024 (as according to the CKTA) the toll fee is now 2.50 Krowns.

The cuisine of North Bardonia is diverse, influenced by its varied geography. Coastal regions offer a rich seafood selection, featuring dishes like grilled fish and shellfish. In the arid south, there's a focus on hearty, spiced meats, reflecting the desert environment. The mountainous central and northern areas contribute to a mix of green and arid influences, resulting in a cuisine that includes both fresh, mountain-inspired salads and robust, earthy stews.

Religion in North Bardonia has always been a conscientious topic, with innumerable wars fought over Faith. Even in modern times faith affects politics and economic standing. Alongside countless other issues Religon is one the presents a major challenge to overcome.

The Old Faith

The Old Faith is the largest religious organization in North-Bardonia and is also the oldest. The diaspora of Old Faithers outside of North Bardonia is mainly cantered in Domlandian, [TBD] and [TBD]. Established roughly 1500 B.C. in Central Vabas.

Matheist Church of North Bardonia:

The MCNB is the one of the three main Mathesit body of North Bardonia and is a Pontificate organization in itself. The organization was preceded by the [TBD], an official body organized by the Hansan Colonial Council in 1792 and by the Council of Lordsfountain (1435)

Healthcare in North Bardonia is handled by the Department of Health and it affiliated Ministries in the Provinces. The DoH operates all General Hospitals and supplies equipment whilst the ministries hire the staff for the GH’s and provided staff for clinics.

The DoH has allowed privatisation for Apothecaries, Clinics, and large hospitals with North Bardonia. Currently the DoH operates three Medical Colleges (one in Carthiada, one in Khariabad and one in Coulthel), these medical colleges teach nurses and doctors to fill the DoH’s General Hospital’s. The DoH in total runs 486 General Hospitals with and additional 34 under construction.

The private sectors currently operate 28 total General Hospitals with large amounts of small, licensed Apothecaries. These privatization efforts had been started in the late 80s and continue to be a nation able bodied system for healthcare and continue to expand. Medicine and Drugs are managed by the DoH’s Registration and Licensing Office and prescriptions are required for some medication.

Changes to the healthcare system to prevent striking has been implemented (Bill W-1) after the disastrous consequences of the 2017 Solidarity Health Union Strikes. The DoH is currently working to reform much of the healthcare apparatus to improve its quality of service for all North Bardonians.

The Government doesn’t provide direct unemployment support and benefits for individuals and instead offers Unemployment Insurance as a way to balance concerns of businesses, citizens and the government's budget.

The main agency responsible for providing unemployment insurance and insurance for many aspects of North Bardonian life (mainly healthcare and other welfare services) is the North Bardonian National Insurance & Care Corporation (abbreviated to: InsurCareNB). Parties and Elections

Legislature

The Parliament of North-Bardonia (Parliämentar oz Nörd-Bardönia) is made up three body’s; Chamber of the Senate, Chamber of Commons, and Chamber of Notables. The tricameral status of North Bardonia allows for a balance of power between the People, States, Clergy, Nobility and the King. The Commons, as it called is headed by the Minister-President (Ministerat-Prezidant) who is the head of the largest Party and the Government.

Parliament Building of North Bardonia showing the Interior of the Chamber of Commons.

The building were the Parliament is based in is the Parliament Building which started being constructed in 1898 and was completed in 1903. The building contains all three chambers of Parliament and also is home to offices of the Members of Parliaments. A large water pool was added onto the structure in 1935.

Interestingly the Constitution ignores the succession of females to the throne and instead only refers to the monarch as “King” which lead to a Male Primogeniture being enshrined as law.

Elections

Election are held every 5 years with the notable exception of when a snap election is called, in which case the metaphorical clock on the election doesn't reset. Snap Elections are called due to Hung Parliments and allow for whatever reason they were called to elevate a major political problem in the Commons. Meanwhile the Senate doesn't have Snap Election and instead is forced to wait for a General Election.

North Bardonia uses a combination of First Past the Post and Proportionate Electoral System to decide its Commons and a FPTP for its Senate. For the Commons 420 Seats are decided by people directly from their respective electoral district and 300 divided amongst the provinces using the Proportionate a system.

Parties:

These who ran in the last election:

National Syndicalist Party:

Representing the ideology of National Syndicalism the party has polled steady and is a strong advocate of far right ideals and the party has managed to maintain its distance from the Young Nationalist maintaining its popularity. The party is lead by Alexander Herns.

Law

Courts normally assign one Judge, two Attorneys and a Jury alongside legal counsel to both sides. The courts are very long in most cases and inquire large legal fees which the guild uses to pay for trials and other procedures. Interestingly the courts are not paid by tax dollars instead by the legal fee’s and ownership of the property of the Courthouses.

Another office of power is that of the Attorney-General which is responsible for ensuring the punishment and enforcement of the verdict and post and pre court proceedings to ensure the defendant and prosecution are prepared for court and follow the verdict by contacting different offices within the government.

Woman’s Rights

Tollway & Tollroads

As of the modern day[1] North Bardonia has in operation 43 Tollways and 12,000 Kilometers of Tollway in service all represented by the Tollway Alliance of North Bardonia (TANB) who operate a universal toll pass for 365 Krown per year. The TANB represent some finest strips of Tarmac in North Bardonia and are used by millions every year as an alternative towards the public highway system.

Cinema

The North Bardonian cinema scene is dominated by the two cities of Cordo Fa and Uiortel. Both host annual Film Festivals with Cordo Fa in August and Uiortel in January that bring numerous filmmakers and film stars from around the world to the two cities. Several large studios own large film locations in the Uiortel Range and within the two cities. The ‘home grown’ film industry had recently exploded with innumerable smaller studios taking up home in Uiortel and Cordo Fa. Interestingly Cordo Fa and Uiortel are home to two contrasting film styles. Cordo Fa is a hub of animation and CGI whilst Uiortel is a hub of live action. Even in genres Cordo Fa proves to prefer child friendly and the more traditional film genres whilst Uiortel is more centered towards adult genres such as action, thriller and horror.

The films industries golden age in North Bardonia would be from 1970-1990 with dozens of filmmakers produces classical films that would be huge successes to foreign audiences intrigued by the new style of filming appearing in many Bardonian films of "One Shot" films were, to the viewer, the whole film would appear as one, never-ending shot following one character during the event, such as the classic Star of the Sea (1984). Other genres also saw hiatus such as the animation scene with Prominet North Bardonian filmmaker Malros Leftenson, a filmmaker for much of his life, creating the historical drama The Winds of Fate. A classically film released in 1999 by the Cordo Fa Filming Company. Numerous films have come out of Cordo Fa and many are greatly appreciated in the wider world.

Sports

In North Bardonia sports depends a lot on where you were born. Inland and in major cities the most popular sports are Baseball, Football, and Tennis. Baseball completions have been held since the 19th Century and had helped created a unique North Bardonian Cultural Identity whilst under Hansan Occupation. Football gained a presence in the 1940’s during a time of economic growth, tennis as a sport of the elite has also been around since the 19th Century.
