According to the FFA's league coefficient, Liga Premiére has dominated domestic Aeian footballing leagues, though the league faces considerable competition coming from the Navish Superliga. Team's from Liga Premiére have a history of dominating international footballing tournaments and player of the year awards. Most recently, both Olympique de Lotrique and FC Almiaro have won the FFA Champions Cup, making Midrasia the only nation to have two domestic teams win the tournament.

Today Liga Premiére remains one of the most popular and profitable domestic footballing leagues, with high levels of average attendance and fans of the league and its teams coming from all over Mundial. In mid-2017 it was announced that the Midrasian Football Federation announced it would be restructuring and re-branding the existing Liga 1 into the Liga Premiére, in a move that was driven by a desire to attract more overseas viewers, as well as reforming the league's financial structure to allow for a more balanced share of TV revenue. In light of the re-brand it was announced that bidding prices for the broadcasting rights for the 19/20 season had increased significantly, allegedly surpassing Đ3.5 billion.

Promotion and relegation
A system of promotion and relegation exists across the entirety of the Midrasian Football Federation. The three lowest placed teams in Liga Premiére are relegated to the Liga 2, and the top two teams from the Liga 2 promoted to Liga Premiére, with an additional club promoted after a series of play-offs involving the third, fourth, fifth and sixth placed clubs. The lowest ranked clubs from Liga 2 are relegated to Liga 3 the bottom tier of Midrasian professional football. Any teams relegated from Liga 3 are regarded as non-league teams and can only play in the amateur Midrasian and regional footballing ladder.

Each season, the three lowest placed teams in Liga Premiére are relegated to the Liga 2, whilst the top two teams from the Liga 2 promoted to Liga Premiére. The third promoted team is the winner of the Liga 2 play-offs which involve the teams which finished in third, fourth, fifth, and sixth place in Liga 2. In cases where overall points are equal between two or more teams, the following tie-break criteria is applied:

* If all clubs involved have played each other twice:
* overall goal difference
** If the tie is between two clubs, then the tie is broken using the goal difference for the two matches those clubs have played against each other (without away goals rule)
* overall goals scored
** If the tie is between more than two clubs, then the tie is broken using the games the clubs have played against each other:
* overall goals conceded
*** a) head-to-head points
* head-to-head results
*** b) head-to-head goal difference
* head-to-head goals scored
*** c) head-to-head goals scored
* fair-play scales (1 point for a yellow card, 2 points for 2nd yellow card/ejection, 3 points for straight red: least points wins)
* If two legged games between all clubs involved have not been played, or the tie is not broken by the rules above, it is broken using:
** a) total goal difference
** b) total goals scored
* If the tie is still not broken, the winner will be determined by Sportsmanship scales. These are:
** Yellow card (sports), 1 point
** Yellow card (sports)/Ejection (sports), 2 points
** Red card (sports), 3 points

2020-21 Liga Premiére

Liga Premiére, originally known as Liga 1 is a Midrasian professional league for men's association football clubs. The league is Midrasia's primary domestic football competition, located at the top of the football league system. The league hosts 20 clubs and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the bottom three teams each season being relegated to Liga 2. Formed in 1905 as a union of all of Midrasia's regional footballing championships, Liga Premiére is one of the oldest and most prestigious football leagues in Mundial.

A large number of teams have competed and won the league throughout its long history, however in recent years, the league has mostly been dominated by a small sect of top-tier clubs, particularly Olympique de Lotrique and FC Almiaro who are seen as the 'grandees' of modern Midrasian football.

According to the AF's league coefficient, Liga Premiére is one of Mundial's foremost domestic leagues, along with the Navish Superliga and Atrescan LegaUno.

Format

The competition format follows the usual double round-robin format in which each team within the league plays each other twice, both home and away. Teams receive three points for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss. The season runs from mid-August to mid-May. Teams are ranked in a league table by their overall points, with the team with the highest number of total points crowned as champion.

Promotion and relegation

A system of promotion and relegation exists within all divisions of the Midrasian footballing pyramid. The lowest ranked clubs from Liga 2 are relegated to Liga 3 the bottom tier of Midrasian professional football. Any teams relegated from Liga 3 are regarded as non-league teams and can only play in the amateur Midrasian and regional footballing ladder.

Ranking of clubs on equal points

In cases where overall points are equal between two or more teams, the following tie-break criteria is applied:

 • overall goal difference
 • overall goals scored
 • overall goals conceded
 • head-to-head results
 • head-to-head goals scored
 • fair-play scales (1 point for a yellow card, 2 points for 2nd yellow card/ejection, 3 points for straight red: least points wins)

Qualifying for international competitions

The top teams in the league qualify for the FFA Champions Cup. Based on Liga Premiére's league coefficient, Midrasia is able to send a total of 3 teams to the competition. The first, second and third placed teams within the league gain qualification for the tournament.

A further three teams placing fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively also earn qualification for the Asuran League tournament. The winner of the Copa de Mydra also gains qualification to the preliminary rounds of the Asuran League. If the winner of the Copa de Mydra has already qualified for the Asuran League or Champions Cup through their league position, the team placed in seventh is granted qualification to the Asuran League.

Teams

A total of 20 teams contest the league in its current season, including 17 sides from the 2018-19 season and three promoted from Liga 2. These are two clubs promoted directly from that division (Union de Mydroll and FC Cadillac), and the winner of the Liga 2 play-offs, Saint Solenn.
