The National Coalition of Lyoan Opposition Forces (abbreviated NCLOF), is an alliance of twelve rebel groups opposed to the government of Lyoa. It was formed on March 23, 2017, after a meeting between leadership of rebel factions on the idea of forming a coalition.
Composition
This alliance combines the efforts of twelve rebel groups in eastern Lyoa. It was formed as an attempt to unify moderate rebel factions that were in opposition to the Lyoan government.
The NCLOF is composed of the following groups:
- Lyoan Resistance Movement
- Christian Army for the Liberation of Lyoa
- Resistance and Unity Front
- Union for Democracy
- National Renewal Forces
- Democratic Forces of Lyoa
- Army of Salvation for the Republic
- Lyoan People's Defense Units
- Allied Popular Forces for Liberation
- Free Movement of the East
- Central Council of the Revolution
- 11th Infantry Brigade
- Organization for the Defense of the People
Areas of Operation
NCLOF spokesman and officer of the Union for Democracy, Cyril Mondaca, stated that the NCLOF operates "nationwide". However, most of the NCLOF's power base is in the east, and very few attacks have taken place outside of this region.
